Cute. Having a handicap tag I always think of those worse off then me and park in the "normal" spot next to the last handicap spot. Not sure if I had the chance to park in a hybrid spot, but if I did I would choose a regular one instead.

It may not be rated that high from an eco modder stand point but at work I use to manage a small fleet of trucks, lots of towing airport cargo (not on road) sometimes 20,000lbs+. Lots of sitting around waiting with AC or heat running. The real world cost for a 6month sample had a gas Ford at $0.39 per KM and the hybrid Chevy at $0.20. As a comparison our 2 non hybrid cars that never towed were at $0.20, V6 and $0.24, V8.

I used to happily drive a schoolbus by myself in the carpool lane and I was not even in a car!

Now to read the other four pages...

I say that is discriminatory. I get better mileage than any of my hybrid driving customers I see!

Sure, but it may be still not so accurate when we take the efficiency aspect down to each class of vehicle. One can consider a hybrid Tahoe fuel-efficient compared to a regular Tahoe, or a random Diesel truck to be fuel-efficient in contrast to another truck with a big-block V8 gasser.

BTW there is a supermarket in São Paulo with parking spots for flexfuel vehicles, which I consider kinda dumb since flexfuel ability is now the mainstream back here...

Mind you, when it's phrased like that, they're going for LEED credits, and there's actually a list of vehicles eligible for those spaces: greenercars.org | news & documents

So technically, if your vehicle is not on that list, you are not allowed to use that space. And, many vehicles that are quite fuel efficient don't have the emissions performance to make the list. Now, nobody would even think twice if you, say, parked an old TDI there (which due to emissions performance doesn't even come close to meeting the list), but still.

That's pointless. So, instead of hybrid parking spots, fuel-efficient parking spots, why don't they just stop bragging and do the name-calling?

This is obviously a trap. The sign itself prevents pulling through the spot, which should be located closer to the entrance of the lot, rather than the front
