On further checking, is that a roll of tape on the gear lever, sorry, shifter ?

If so snap - I have a roll of silver tape on mine too.

I hadn't noticed, but on closer inspection, that is a roll of tape! I'm not sure what it's doing there.

That was the first thing I noticed as well. I half expected you to call out the gearshift lever as #16: tape holder / dispenser.

I'd get you a pic of the tape on the gear level but, er, well, hmmm

I changed my layuot. I am a firm believer in having gauges within a close proximity so my eyes arent off the road ahead of me. I had the scangauge in a perfct location to see....but I was always reaching to it to read another guage or reset the trip.
I decided to mount it on the left....I'm left handed. It is also firmly mounted so I can push the buttons withuot it moving at all.
I moved the transmission temp guage up and to the left and put the little PARROTT screen inside the cluster.

Cool thread!

I'll give it a go too.

Next things on the list are Injector kill switch, Alternator on/off from a switch instead of the temporary knob twisting that I have now (these two should go on the shifter) and possibly an LED DRL switch when I get around to it.

Everything is now in the 'eyesite' that infiniti designed. THe Garmin and Scangauge are in front of the a/c vent. But this car has no problem w cooling!

It is much more comfortable too when taking long trips 7-11 hrs because all the information is where my eye look naturely, just below the window line.

I made a custom shroud out of a grainy plastic black notebook. It reduces the glare on the added instruments. Also give a more 'permanant look' to reduce theft opprotunity.
