Sounds like a winner. Must be gutless, but I'd take gutless for 40 MPG from an SUV.

The hybrid is the most powerful version. ICE is 175 hp / 163 lb-ft. The front electric motor is 118 hp / 149 lb-ft. The rear motor is 54 hp / 89 lb-ft.
0-60 7.5 seconds
1/4 mile in 15.6 seconds @ 90.4 mph
I'm not looking to derail the Model Y thread so that is all I'll say about the RAV4 hybrid. My original intent was to show what a CUV looks like.
A CUV is an unibody hatchback or wagon that has been lifted. If you don't lift the car it is just another hatchback.

Less than a month after unveiling the Model Y (and about 18 months before it goes on sale) Musk has decided to raise the price by $1,000
This is why most companies don't show new cars to the public or announce pricing years in advance.

But only for the people that have not ordered it yet. The early ones got and keep the original price. This time it did make sense to order early.

Well the price of Teslas is going to effectively increase by $3750 when that credit gets eliminated beginning of next year. I expect sales will be extremely soft in the US market beginning in July when the credit is practically gone. Chevy Bolt sales will plummet right about now.
That leaves Nissan with a full credit, and a handful of Korean cars that will be made in low volume for select markets.
Perhaps I'll get a new 40 kWh Leaf just before the first tax credit reduction hits. My current priority is to get out of this apartment so I have a place to charge.

Model Y will be torquey as hell, and quick, and gets over 100MPGe.

It should be quick for $52,000. The extra $25,000 you pay for the Model Y buys a LOT of gasoline.

That would be the LR AWD. 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. Faster than most performance cars.
The $40,000 SR RWD does it in 5.9. Not a slouch, try find an ICE SUV of that price that comes near.

Of course, the SR version probably won't get into the hands of drivers until a year after the LR version launches, which will also probably miss the anticipated launch time frame.
I'd really like to see EVs in the $25k range for them to be a real threat to ICE. Personally I'm not willing to pay more than $20k on a new vehicle, and much less on a used one even though I can "afford" it. Cages (4 wheel vehicles) are like a hammer to me. I don't need an expensive hammer, I just need to drive the nails in.
