I guess people are assuming that the "nut" can still be adjusted. I'm further over my car's EPA than you are over your car's, and I can still see a number of areas where my driving for efficiency can be improved.

So your a regular on a 'lesser' site, but game here to ask about lowering??????!!!!!?????

what?

Oh, I get it.......
your used to idiots who post some wild hair post and everybody says how cool it is.

As opposed to a newbee w/ an off the wall post to cut his springs, with no data listed, no actual mpg listed and we were supposed to do what?
We offer intelegent and constructive advise and you go off?

Hey,I understand $$ being tight, but on a list of absolutely free things I can do to my car to get better mileage, cutting springs still wouldn't make top ten.
first, you have to get it aligned and that will cost $. and if it wont align, then your tires wear faster. And the ride will suck ALL the time.

I lowered the front 1.25" on my InfinitiQ45 with spring compressors that cost $10. I hated the ride on the first setting 1.5". So I got my wrench and took 10 minutes backing them off. Now I love the ride. And it helped my mpg because it dropped the front and not the rear.
But the best part is?????
I can go back to bone stock in 15 minutes with a wrench.

But hey, be a dork, cut your springs.

you dont get ANY mpg with 0 mph.

every engine has a sweet sport which is a combination of the rear end ratio and the engine itself.
some can get 1700 rpm and be at 55 and get their best mpg.

Haha. You guys are really jackoffs around here. Pretty funny, actually. How do you consider CleanMPG a "lesser" site? Aren't we all in this to obtain the same goal? Sounds like an Apple vs. Microsoft debate...

Also, I believe the word you are looking for is "intelligent," not "intelegent." But hey, be a dork.

Actually, I was coming for input to sway me one way or the other. Was wondering if the MPG gains were worth the loss in ride quality. I read these threads before-hand:
(see next post)

Calling someone a "newb," claiming another web site is "lesser," and getting a higher percentage of the EPA than someone else, does not necessarily make you any better of a person. Just so you know. I don't get higher percentage because I do not pulse-and-glide. Why? Because most of our driving is done at night, so I cannot ICE-off P&G (lights don't stay on), so I ICE-on P&G instead, which is much less effective.

My low post count does not make me a so-called "newb." Nor does my percentage of EPA. The low post count does mean that I am a new poster, but not a new reader. A lot of mods require either money or extensive knowledge; both of which I do not have. That, possibly, may make me a "newb."

If it makes you feel any better, I congratulate you for attaining such high numbers, and I appreciate that you are doing one of the following: 1) Trying to lower our nation's dependence on foreign oil, 2) Trying to lower our nation's dependence on oil, period, 3) Trying to save our planet, 4) Trying to save a buck or two.

So, good job all!

This I know. But I thought I would welcome our new guest with the same welcoming I got. Just trying to be fair and all.

redorchestra:
Since you are not supposed to be at one speed for any length of time if you are utilizing P&G, this is a moot question. However, if you drive like I do, you may find that fifth gear at the lowest speed possible will provide the best fuel economy possible. For me, fifth gear can be reached as soon as 21 mph. 20 will rattle quite a bit, so I don't like to do it. Can burn out your clutch. I do not have a tach, so that is about as good of an answer I can give you.

You are obviously having a hard time understanding what I wrote. You will ALWAYS have room for improving your mileage by adjusting your driving style. Even if you ask members who are getting double the EPA rating for their cars, they will tell you that there are still ways they can improve their driving for economy. My intent was not to start a pissing contest, but by saying that you have nothing more to learn/adjust with your driving when you're only a paltry 26% above EPA ratings is just ignorant.

By the way, I don't pulse and glide; I don't coast with my engine off; and I drive the posted speed limits on the highways.

you still an xxx look at your post #12.

and yes your a newbee.
I dont care if you invented the internet.....
a newbee is a new poster to a forum.

you logic is flawed....that's a given.
So here we are on page two and you have yet to respond to the valid suggestions that have been made concerning cutting springs......(that is so ricer...)
Which goes to some basic personal issues on your part.
