Alright, here we go.

Back the power down to 95 hp at 3400 rpms.

Airflow requirement: 13.236 pounds per minute

Boost requirement: 30.719 absolute / 16.019 psi gauge

Pressure ratio: 2.388

Based on what I have seen with the maps of the turbos, it seems that backing the power off a little and spinning it up a little higher gives some wiggle room.

So the IHI will work?

How would that compare to a k03?

Both are available for basically the same price right now. I really should learn this stuff...

Ya know, provided that you tune the pump right, and since the GT15, the IHI and the KO3 are comparable in size and flow rate, it really comes to what you have access to and your preference.

This is only anecdotal, so take it with a grain of salt.....the IHI has the best response out of the three.

I know you'll engineer the turbo system properly, and that is going to determine the response time more than anything.

EDIT: Go with the one that's closest to what VW did ( GT15 or VNT GT15 ),
saves a lot of trouble.

You've been really helpful, and I appreciate that.

Now I'll sort some deals and see what happens from there!

May be picking up a take off turbo/manifold and intercooler from an Eclipse/Talon w/ 4G63 2.0 engine for $100. Just have to go pick it up in Johnson City, N.Y. in the next couple days.

Obviously, the manifold is useless to me, but the turbo and cooler are well worth $100.

I just did remembered, friend had truck version of mkI golf years ago. He did put turbo in it, then he put bigger turbo, turned pump to very rich and I think he was running 2.1bar (30.46) of boost, thing was a rocket and he always beated crap out of it, still it did last very long for his usage, over a year, normally he managed to destroy cars faster.

So I think that engine will tolerate quite a bit.

Of course it is not a problem with FE minded turbo install.

Yeah, it was called Caddy indeed.

Same front part in all of them, rear is different.

Then we had a Jetta, which was a Golf in sedan form, later it was called Vento and now again it is called Jetta. Just today I did see one Jetta that was based on MkII Golf, there are still some around.
