Getting some(any)thing to work is one thing.
Getting it to "pass" EPA and CARB emission certifications across hot-desert to cold-mountain elevations is something else!

while I don't want to make any extra pollution, we don't have emissions testing where I live. but, if running on vapor is more efficient, and actually gets better mileage, then there is less going out the tailpipe. if I'm running lean, then again less out of the tailpipe.

Good to know. I plan on having it tested once its running. Like I said IF is more efficient THEN I'd like to assume it must be burning cleaner or better mixed in chambers which should also be cleaner.
And last nights pics were a joke. Im actually putting my air control together at this moment.
Also, I'm still returning pcv vapors, using the maf, and temp sensor, and emissions vapor recycler

Lets see, I design, fabricate, cut weld, build lithium batteries, build engines in my living room, build and modify welding machines, build 220 volt extension, modify generators, do power factor correction, build air compressors and a lot of other stuff....
Your hands on experience looks like you play with lawn mowers and make stuff out of old soup cans.

Awww. This is my custom air flow controller since the engine runs opposite to normal. All the gas is always ready, just add air. It's connected to the throttle body control and adjustable. You see the pcv and temp sensor in the replacement air connection. For day 3

If quality of work was in order, I think most people could execute accordingly. soulcrusher is in the "proof of concept" stage. There is little need for pretty elegance and longevity.
I worked on a 60 million dollar government project during the Reagan Era "Star Wars" concept. Many times we "prototyped" in everyday materials. We mocked up a working model of a wave guide using coffee cans and duct tape. Tax payer dollars should not be wasted.

But, they have little teeth in the scheme of things. Just as long as a person's vehicle is not dripping fluids, exhausting visible smoke and showing questionable construction we have little to worry about from the authorities other than annual inspections and traps.
The "non tampering" laws are hoped to be a deterrent but enforcement efforts are usually reserved for bigger targets. People such as pgfpro and soulcrusher have little to fear about what they post about their projects on this and other public boards as it is beyond the reasonable scope of the authorities to police such activities. Thousands of high school, college and university vehicle projects would fall under the "tampering" laws and yet there is no wide spread effort by the EPA to stop these infractions even if they are publicly published on the net and student papers. Even more illegal activities are publicly published by private individuals on the web.
The authorities generally go after sellers. A local dealer was fined several hundred thousand for selling and installing a non certified device on roughly a hundred vehicles he sold out of his lot. This does not mean they do not go after individuals. Some particularly onerous individuals who have attracted undue attention to themselves have come under scrutiny. But, if you are the average tinkerer, you have little to fear.
If soulcrusher makes it to the point of a production viable product, then he will have to meet the EPA requirements. However, depending on his product, he may not have to meet as extensive a set of requirements as an OEM. SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) has workshops and guidelines that can be helpful in this matter.
