When you see a Toyota Sienna on the road and notice how perfect the bodywork is for wheel skirts. The wheels are set in from the body all the way down.

When you see a cop and immediately go into neutral because the herd of idiots who just passed you will slam on their brakes to avoid a nasty ticket.
The second level of "pulse drafting".

When you take a propane torch and burn off the "nibs" on the sides of your new tires to eliminate the hundreds of "nibs" effect on your overall aero drag

And knowing long before you get there where the cops sit on the crossover points on the Interstate so you can start coasting 15 or 20 seconds BEFORE the idiots slam on their brakes.

If your idea of a dream car is a 2000 insight with a Volt hybrid system, vette 6speed trans, lupo 3l engine, battery pack built by planetaire, converted to a reverse trike, and custom bodywork designed by basjoos (but built by Chip Foose).

You know you're an ecomodder if...

You sell the car you're currently getting around 60 mpg in (Festiva) so you can buy one you can get over 70 mpg in (Insight) . . . and immediately begin saving for one that you can potentially get way over 80 mpg in and doesn't even exist yet (Elio)
