Shade me old mate, I feel you are several heavens short of Nirvana here, although I too share your place on earth.

Only yesterday did I burn an additional 0.15 litres of Diesel if only to prove to the moron in a Lexus in front of me that yes, someone can move faster than they can so maybe the inside lane is meant for them.

I did, however, coast for about 2 miles after that (from around 120 mind, not true ociffer if you are reading this) out of gear at 380 MPG on the SG and --- on the built in readout, and arrive at my work at 52 AVE on the SG.

Sensei, I feel we can move on together, and learn not to leave a footprint on the rice paper of ecodriving despite what the real world throws at us.

Strength brother.

You might be an ecomodder if when 10 miles away from home you suddenly realize that you need to use the restroom very badly and must first consider the fuel consumption of speeding up dramatically vs stopping.

YMBAEM if.....
when you are forced to alter your plans and change your routes, the likely effect of the additional fuel spent comes into play and helps to decide the final outcome.

......you sometimes go further than necessary because you can get better MPGs going the longer route.

......you used to get into trouble for speeding tickets but now get griped at for going too slowly.

I do that with my chosen commuting route. It's longer, but the mpg's are better. It also uses less fuel - I wouldn't do it if it consumed more fuel.

You know you're an ecomodder when...

... you know how many strokes of your bicycle pump it takes to increase your car's tire by ~1 PSI.

I like that picture. Good signs, bad aero though.

I saw that thing when I was in DC this summer. Truly sad, ideologically and aerodynamically.

If he had extended the sides down another 12-15 in. he'd not only have more advertising area, but rear wheel skirts too. Not that they would help much...

Let's turn Patriotism and Religion into a circus wagon, wasting lots of fuel in the meantime, that'll solve all our problems.

YKYAEI...

your (gps) navigator displays 866km/h (538mph)

All right, this wasn't in megane, but in a plane from Paris to Toulouse. It was at the end of the climb, then it stayed at around 833km/h (517mph).
I just wanted to know what was the fastest speed used during the travel in the A321 I was in and if the GPS chip could manage such a high speed. Sadly the navigation program was always trying to put the "car" on a road...

Denis.
