There appears to be a problem with the Team Competition. When I look at the team list, I see that Svietlana's team Diesel is #7 with 47mpg and 4 members. On the team Diesel page, there really are only 4 members, and their FE does average at 47mpg. The funny thing is that Svietlana is NOT on that list, even though I cannot join the team, only quit it.

Now, I checked that if my FE was factored in, the team's average would be almost 1.5mpg higher, allowing us to pass team Metro. Hmmm, this gives me an idea of who might be behind this

Because your last fuel log entry is more than 90 days old, it's not counted or displayed. That doesn't mean you're no longer a team member though.

I just confirmed that is the case.

On the other hand, is this how we reward members who save that much fuel?
I remember we had a discussion a while back about this, so that only active cars are competing, I just did not remember how often we decided the fillups should be. I'd love to add my bicycle to the competition in that case - I do more kilometers on it than in the car, and of course use much less fuel

I'm in the same boat: my fill-ups are often more than 90 days apart.

We do need to have some threshold to let lapsed members drop from the calcs.

Feel free to join! It's as much about comraderie as it is about friendly rivalry, no reall effort to "win" over all the teams is realistic. Sign-up if you like. Happy to have you.

In extreme cases, you've got to take one for the team- my 17 mpg Xterra belonged in Team SUV a lot more than Team Nissan. I'm at the low end of Team Honda right now and I'm thrilled to be on board. Come on over, poomanchu. At 40.15 you'll be right behind my 40.44, and since we're both new to the cars we can climb up together!

Hey, I'm on Team Honda and these days 40 mpg is a good tank for my Accord!

Thanks for joining Team Metro, BadEgg. You might give us just enough average boost to pass Team Honda. My summer entries will help but then again everyone gets better in summer.
