I think the aluminum panel in front of the resonator is there for aero. Honda didn't want to put any plastic near the exhaust, but that area looks like it would have been really aerodynamically dirty without that piece.
I gotta put more aero on my underbody. And then I need to build a boat tail.

Looking online, it seems Doorman has a very nice selection of plastic fuel line, fittings, etc. Its pretty inexpensive too. Anyone have any experiences with plastic fuel line?

Well this took way too long, but its been rainy out and my Civic occupies my garage. I finally got the fuel line fixed. It is a temporary fix of rubber fuel line and brass fittings, but it works for now. When I get the Civic finished, I'll drive that while I fix a few things on the Insight. Anyway, this morning was my first trip in it since finding the bad fuel line. Its really nice to be in it again. No more of that 50ish mpg silliness in the Prius, only 60+ mpg for this guy.
Next on the to do list is going to be taking a look at the EGR valve. My lean burn is still bucking and that is the next culprit on the list. I see there are a few 'fixes' online for this issue. Have you guys tried them? Or, is it best just to nab an Accord valve and slap it on there? I have a couple GM ones that seem like they'd fit, but I read they require rewiring since the pinout is different? I'm not even sure the connectors are the same. I'm sooo looking forward to having smooth lean burn.

I completely cured the bucking with a good cleaning of the EGR manifold and soaking the valve.
Also I disassembled the portion of the valve with the sliding electrical contacts in it after reading that some appeared to have been assembled with the metal contact "fingers" upside down. I seem to recall flipping mine over. Or I could be making that up... it was a long time ago.

I ended up ordering a new valve. Its my daily driver and I don't want any mishaps that might take it off the road at this point.

It seems another issue has crept up with the Insight. Two days in a row now its been near freezing when I leave for work, and two days now I've had quite a bit of condensation on the inside of my windshield. This is killing my mileage as I have to blast my defroster just to make its safe to drive, and it takes a while to get rid of that condensation. Its not just a fog, its a decent amount of water. It seems to be primarily on the passenger side of the car as the driver's side clears up a lot faster. It seems this isn't an unheard of issue, so I'll be looking into it.

One guy over on IC said he keeps 10lbs of kitty litter in a bin in the back, and bakes it in his oven once a week. I'm thinking of trying this myself.

Yeah, I saw that. Not a big fan of that idea.
I'm kind of hoping that its just an issue right now due to the extreme wet we've had coupled with near freezing / freezing mornings. However, I would definitely like to find the issue and get it fixed.
I did notice this morning that the passenger side seat belt was a bit wet. The driver's side is not at all. However, the passenger side / door window doesn't have any condensation on it at all on the inside, just the windshield.
