Today was my first day of the swap

so far
pulled battery, air box, inner cv's, starter, dog bone mount, shifer asymbley from transmission.
Right now I am fighting the outer cv on the drivers side, it is fairly stuck, but I'll get it.

Keep that attitude... things are bound to gum up a bit, but "you'll get it."

Thanks for asking Darin! Toe has actually been fine for a few weeks, but I'm still wearing composite toed boots all the time in fear.

Got back home about 2 hours ago and knocked the CV out, and dropped the transmission (First FWD transmission I've ever pulled). Not a comfortable experience, but it is out. Come to find out my clutch is in pretty good shape, but my throw out bearing is TOAST.
I have to dig up my 4th triple square bit (naturally the one I can't find is needed)to pull the old flywheel out.
With any spare time the 6 speed transmission should be in tomorrow.

Just got a little time to play with it, changing the shifter (inside the car shifter) is going to be a much larger project than anticipated.
Essentially the Exhaust has to come out to get a heat shield out from under the shifter. and naturally removing the exhaust requires pulling several braces. Nothing huge, just adds a few hours time (if only it were an EV . . . .).

And while the transmission is out I'm adding ASR (essentially an electronic differential, uses the new ABS pump to apply the brake on whatever drive wheel is slipping). And I need to replace 2 bushings that got wet with shock fluid then later failed when my Bilstein exploded last summer. And some out of town friends want to eat lunch, and more out of town friends coming tonight.
Err, going to be tomorrow before the 6 speed goes in . . . No big deal, I'll get it.

Off to get 12 point, Brake fluid, and long aquarium tube (bleed ABS pump) Bicycle FTW.

Well, I could not find tripple square bits ANYPLACE, Sears, Autozone, Bumper 2 bumper, Napa, PepBoys, Advance, Oreilly, or after turning my tools inside out 2 times ERR. Unfortunately the soonest the bits will be here is Tuesday ERRR.

Just changed out my ABS pump, pulled about 1/2 of the exhaust, bushings are next.

Those 12pt sockets are a PITA... I never put those type of bolts back in when I come across them.

You can try to see what size square head will fit it, like if it's a 1/2" fastener, you can use a 1/2" drive socket wrench without a socket to remove them if they're not rusted/over 9000 tight.
