For reference, this was on my 14 mile commute home. Ambient temp was around 80F. I kept the windows up and only used the fan. I got stuck by a train and got to open the windows for a little while, yay. But this was pushing it pretty hard hypermiling wise.

Sweet! Sticker picture with obvious levels of prestige for you!

I was able to eek out over 70 mpg on the way to work on Firday. But, today I wasn't able to. Despite my best efforts, I only hit 68. I fear a 70mpg tank will need more mods.

I hear you. I took my car off the road for a couple days to figure out how to relocate the battery to the trunk because my completely failing deep cycle battery was making me run the alternator all the time. I think I'll surely have the car back on the road tonight. With a new 60 amp hour deep cycle battery and a sturdier decklid spoiler, I'm hoping I'll get that extra 0.4 MPG that I needed last time to get up over 70.

Indeed, it’s been fun. I’ve seen everybody’s 90 day average shoot up massively due to everyone going for 70mpg...

I think my next step is going to have to be an air dam. The higher speed portion of my trip is what kills my mpg. I just can't maintain even 60 mpg at 50 mph constant speed.

According to my quick-and-dirty, back-of-napkin calculation, a stock Mirage has a drag area around 0.598 square meters--larger than the current Prius or Model 3. Anything you can do to reduce that should help.

493.5m / 8.6g = 57.4mpg :/

I knew it wouldn't beat 72 but I didn't think it would fall that far.

Goes to show how even a little inattentiveness can tank a tank.

On the bright side, last time I filled was 7/22. I fuel the Metro once a month whether it needs it or not! (kidding)
