So, it sounds like you're filling up often, then. Is that so you can test your changes more frequently?
If I were doing that, I'd try to come up with some sort of graduated flask in place of the stock fuel tank for more accurate readings. My "full tank" fillups are an attempt to increase accuracy in the mpg calculation. You can "even out" the variation by keeping an average of all your fillups, but then it's harder to isolate the effect of each change.
Your car's too old for a ScanGauge, right? Cuz those things really help zero-in on what works and what doesn't.

Gaud, if I tracked my gas mileage in short enough trips it would look like I'm getting 200 MPG. You need to start a fuel log, and track your fuel consumption by the tank, in real world driving conditions, to have any credibility in my world.
You speak very formal garbled up Engrish, much like that rich Nigerian prince that keeps trying to give me money! I am beginning to doubt that you're even human, maybe you're computer generated.
At this point I'm only subscribing to this thread because your pointless ramblings are kind of amusing, but if you have something real to share, you'd better share it fast, cause I'm starting to get bored here!

It's like watching a car wreck, or Fox News. You know you shouldn't, but you just can't stop watching.

I don't check my gas gauge when I fill up. I can usually predict within a couple 1/10ths gallon how much the fill will be.
I CHECK MY ODOMETER.

Well fellas, every time when I put gas into my vehicle I fill it to where there are no bubbles. I am topped off to where I can see the gas right there and sometimes it spills out it is so full. I then take the miles that I've driven be it a 100+ miles of city driving, and then divide the gas used by the miles driven. I have the proper sized tires on my vehicles and it's checked also by my GARMIN. I don't have a SCAN gauge yes, because my vehicles are too old for that. That is how I come up with my mileage claims.

I doubt that dumping fuel on the ground will earn you much support here. Evaporative emissions control systems can be destroyed by overfilling and you are not allowing for any expansion of the fuel in hot ambient temperatures.
More reasons to seriously question credibility.
I never fill my bike unless I am going to ride far enough to use enough fuel to keep the engine heat from forcing fuel vapor out of the tank where I can smell it in my garage. I also use a fan to cool off the bike to keep the residual heat from the engine from heating the fuel tank and creating unwanted fuel vapor.

Well, gosh, and "gosh golly", I also used to own a Honda CX500. But I averaged 60 MPG without any "gadgets", "GADGETS", or gadgets!!!! The "secret" was a steady hand on the throttle, AKA DWL.
