Pretty much hope is correct. You can always do the clutch test I posted before you install it. If it were me while it was out I might just put new bearings in it. Good luck.

Well since I lost my job I had to borrow money for it. From the parents.I got another way better job on the way and pulling the retirement from that one out early. My fathers super worried bout screwing it up putting it in since its 470 after shipping.so he may want the shop to do it if they can for super cheap

Kinda irritates me cuz I been reading it a lot and think I can do it. But eh.maybe the shop will let me watch if they do end up putting in.either way I pray I snagged an epic VX trans

The CX tranny I have is the same as the VX, and I like it. If you criise a lot on the highway (no P&G) you are going to love this one especially.

I did the swap. It was difficult for me (never having done anything like it before). I got help with the toughest stage (actually detaching and installing the trannys).

Look on the bell-housing for P20-A000, and if tyou see that you know at least that you have a VX, CX, or DX tranny). If you have the P20-B000 then you are looking at an Si or EX tranny.

BTW, the link to gear ratios posted a few posts back has an error in the 88-91 HF listing: they put the final drive numbers in for reverse and seem to have completely wrong numbers for the HF final drive. Small deet.

Good luck!

im quite too weary of putting in the transmission since I found it in such good shape at such a good price. im going to have the shop put it in and the new clutch for 360. he said I might me able to watch them do it as well for future references

All looking good. Replacing the throwout bearing? Replacing the clutch? Now is the time, since you'll be looking it right in the face. I just did this whole job 2 months ago and my car is running well. If you have questions, PM me or post here anytime and I'll do my best to help.

I agree that you should do your clutch now. A new clutch shouldn't be very much, it's just the labor that makes getting one installed so expensive.
