The additives, from what I read at
- Bob is the Oil Guy, are mainly about wear and I wouldn't imagine they'll make any difference with shifting quality or leakage from the axle seals. I am getting slight leakage from one axle seal, which I think is because I seated it too far into the transmission. I need to adjust and will do that shortly when I replace the hub bearing unit on that side.
I also think, given how gently and low rpm we drive these transmissions, that the differences between Honda MTF and high quality synth oil like Royal Purple are negligible, personally. And the Royal Purple is cheaper by far.
