Get the exedy clutch it the oe one and like 100-125$. Cheap insurance. The hardest part of the job is probably the shift rod pin. Good luck and put an old clutch on it and do the test I posted in the link. That way you know before you put it in. And if it's not a cx/vx trans you can argue prior to install.

The metal part for the headlights is actually plastic and it's part of the whole housing. They are always broke. Junkyard. I could have got you some yesterday.

The metal hanger clip looking pin is what I thought held in the headlight.don't have a pic of it now.I have one and I have the 1 rubber boot that goes over the headlight.one of the honda techs said that the metal clip part would be hard to find.but he said on his daughters crv he just used the boot.can't remember if he said he used any tape or not. Its def a Vx trans. All the paper work adds up right.the guys at the lube oil shop are going to help me put it in soon. Iv has a brand new exedy OEM clutch for a while as well ready to be put in

Oh the clip that holds the in I'll look might have one in stock. Just because the paperwork says and the vins add up trust me use the clutch pit it in 4th and count the rotations. You dont want the hassle of putting the wrong one in.

the other guy I work with has done quite a few transmission swaps and It all checks out great. he said he could shift and turn thru the gears. once I get the money were going to replace it with the clutch as well. he also mentioned about turning the fly wheel

we got a cherry picker at the shop so were just going to pull the whole engine and trans out at once to do it. the vx transmission weighed in at 90 lbs and had the p20/a000 stamp on it and the vin checks out and everything. can only hope for the best. but my milage blows right now with the z6 trans with the bad input shaft bearing in there

plus its getting harder to put into 1st and grinds sometimes going into 3rd. and the grinding at neutral and acceleration at 1st is getting louder.

the d15z1 and z6 trans actually isnt a bad combo. its got a lot of kick to it and my milage isnt that mad. but i still cant wait to get the trans in there

getting honda mtf and a new axle seal as well. and the oem exedy clutch while its out as well.

the transmission came with a vss so im glad for that

Is Honda MTF what the owner's manual specifies? I know the older Civics actually were built specifically for 10W40 motor oil, and the Honda MTF may be too thin for them. (Even though Honda dealerships kept telling us that was what we should use.)

Double-check that if you can. I have heard MTF blamed for some transmission problems on the older gearboxes.

after doing a lot of research about the Honda mtf and using regular oil. Honda MTF has additives in it specially made for the transmission rather than just using regular oil. I replaced my fluid with Honda mtf and it shifted smoother and wasn't leaking as much as regular oil was which was in there.

I will double check that and ask the other tech at work about it. hes a big Honda fanatic as I am as well. soon were going to replace the clutch, transmission, and throwout bearing.

The additives, from what I read at - Bob is the Oil Guy, are mainly about wear and I wouldn't imagine they'll make any difference with shifting quality or leakage from the axle seals. I am getting slight leakage from one axle seal, which I think is because I seated it too far into the transmission. I need to adjust and will do that shortly when I replace the hub bearing unit on that side.

I also think, given how gently and low rpm we drive these transmissions, that the differences between Honda MTF and high quality synth oil like Royal Purple are negligible, personally. And the Royal Purple is cheaper by far.

Use 10 30. Trust me. On any d series trans prior to 96 10w 30 Ask the Honda trans guru mista bone he rebuilds these thing all the time. For normal driving hey says 10 30 the old mtf was great the new stuff stay clear. So. My 2 cents. I spent hours researching this very topic. Sent your clip out today. Don't forget about me. Man we charge to much to ship. Lol. Work for to p.o. It's a package since it's just a hair to thick.
