That quote should be a bumper sticker for this car.

Uh oh. Somebody thinks your car is ugly, basjoos. Time to tear it all out and put a big plastic body kit and a fart can on it instead.

Prolly ? Is that a new word that everyone uses now-a-days ?

Nice way to introduce yourself - insult someones hard work.

I actually agree with you though.
While there would be little aerodynamic benefit, the least that could be done to make the car look better would be to smooth the caulking in the seams. When applied, it would have taken mere seconds to do.
I emailed Jim about this and he stated that he intended to re-do it when he gets around to it.

Car Aerodynamics - Modifications - Hot Rod Magazine

According to this source, quote : Rarely if ever are body-panel seams so large and misaligned that smoothing them with duct tape will make a measurable difference in Cd. We tried it on our Camaro, and it did nothing."

This was done on an old 1980 Camaro, back when body gaps misaligned body panels were quite bad.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And if you think the AeroCivic is ugly, you should see what we did with my friend's van! (No I won't post pictures...)

Picasso had the skills, but he almost seemed to let it go to his head and start creating crap that was worse and worse just to see if people would continue to accept it :
Early works :
Later works :

And it just got worse from there - UGLY !
He sure didn't make things beautiful that's for sure.

To keep this from being a threadjack, let me get back on topic :

Does anyone know how that the front wheel skirts on the 1937 Auto-Union streamliners turned ? Was it similar to Basjoos setup ?

While I appreciate the AeroCivic for its function, some curvature on the surfaces (rear quarters and front fairing especially) would go a loooooooooooong way. Of course, it's the same to a lesser extent on the Anal Probe. I guess when you're getting 90mpg it really doesn't matter what the damn thing looks like.

...maybe that's why racecars look so cool

PS- Cd, I imagine being a racing model it didn't have that great of a turning radius in the first place. maybe the body's wide enough to accommodate the skinny tires at full lock?
