That's about right, IIRC. A 1999 EX with the stock transmission, rims, and tire size should turn a little faster than 2300rpm at 60mph. It's the hatch, so it has the same fifth (0.702) and FD (4.058) as my former 98 DX coupe tranny. I think it turned more like 2400 at 60mph.

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.

Yeah, I have generally low speed routes, and do LOTS of p&g (all the time, really) with eoc. When I do go on the highway, my mileage drops.

You sir, give me too much credit!

And your side skirts look AWESOME, thanks so much for sharing.

The kammback is VERY cool. It doesn't look like it follows Dr. Kammback's shape though. Am I wrong? Seems to lift too much. Either way, looks great!

Currently, I'm leaning towards lowering the car a couple of inches, versus skirts and/or elaborate underbelly work.

I think that may lend itself more towards the "show" look, that I'm also trying to get in my project. May bite me later though, I'm sure. Carefully considering at this point...

How is the early fall mileage going for you?

Thanks OG, You are correct the Kammback is too high at the back because the sides are at too much of an angle. The plan is to build one from sheet aluminum that is larger and fits the template.

Lowering the 94 VX did help improve MPG, but we also plan some stealth aero mods.

The weather here is starting to get cooler and wetter, so the MPG will begin to be a challenge for a few months. I was just able to do a tank of 78 MPG even with headlights in the morning and light rain for 100 miles.

That's why the Red Mule 92 VX is in the shop right now. We are planning on adding pre- heaters for the oil and water and also a larger battery and alternator off switch.

My goal is to see if these mods can keep my winter MPG from deteriorating too much from what I was doing this summer, but we will see.

From a double check yesterday, the RPM is 2800 (console) at 60 mph, not sure how I got 2300. I think there's an issue with drag on the brakes, and will be looking into this.

Donkey CRX, thanks for posting the picture of the side skirt w/BIG washer and bolt. Where did you get that?
Wow! 2850 rpm? My truck guzzles fuel at that rpm. MaroonMax (my truck) turns 1620rpm at 60mph, 1900rpm at 70mph, and 2170rpm at 80mph!

Hi ECONORAM, I got the stainless steel 1/4" 20 X 1 1/4" drill screws and 1/4" fender washers at Fastenal. They actually are attaching the belly pan to a 1/8" X 2" aluminum frame under the car. The side skirt is attached to the side of the belly pan with 2"X2" .090 inch aluminum 90 degree angles.

The 2800 rpm at 60 MPH is for Johnlvs2run's 99 Civic EX. My 92 Civic VX doses about 1600 RPM at 60 MPH.
