One person buys the car and 2 other people pitch in to buy it. The one person qualifies for both rebates. The one person registers it. Where does free come in? I didn't mention free. It is $5000 per person. The car is for my son, he will pitch in. My husband and I along with my ex-husband will also pitch in. See? Easy peasy.

Oh, OK. I thought you meant 3 of you put in for rebates. One rebate and 3 people sharing the remaining cost makes sense.

My autistic nephew drives a 2003 Ford Expedition. Safe for him but maybe not so much for the rest of us! Just kidding, he is a very safe driver and has never had an accident or ticket. He also works in the kitchen at the old folks home and goes to college here in the music program. Very proud of him, I just wish girls weren't so hard on him but that probably goes for most guys his age.

These guys with autism must occupy a different place on the spectrum than my brother. I let him drive Mom's car in an empty parking lot when he was eleven. He sat in my lap and I used the pedals because he could not reach them.

I moved him back into the passenger seat because he kept trying to hit stuff.

My son has his license but we don’t let him drive alone. It took 120+ hours of careful instruction and practice to get him to where he could take the driving test. He graduated from high school with many hours a week of tutoring and community college (same). It wasn’t easy. He tested a 47 in IQ at 3 and had no language at all. It is possible to make huge strides but a ton of work. The Arcimoto removes some important barriers for my son: blind spots and the need to be closer to traffic so he can focus his attention. The handlebars, throttle, and handbrake seemed to be easy enough for him. He drove in Eugene, a place he has never driven, with a guy behind him directing him. When they got back I was told it went well. That is when I was sold.

Okay, I was concerned that you had an opinion about the Whittaker neighborhood or something. Here is a thread from 2013-15 that I started before I knew about Arcimoto, and ends with me making a deposit on one.

I hold a reservation number that I can let slide until we reach an agreement on features and price. There're things I would change. If they would deliver one with BMW i3 tires on 3x19 wheels I wouldn't have to spend that money twice.

It sounds like he's driven one more than I. I took a spin around the factory parking lot. It told me everything I wanted to know, short of a half-hour or so on a freeway.
