Newspaper interview
I just got off the phone with a newspaper reporter.
Yes, this was the result of the Judge of my speeding ticket court date LITERALLY walking me across the street to the newspaper office last Friday.
I must have talked to the reporter for about an hour.
When I was done, I followed up by sending him an e-mail with some web links, including Ecomodder.com, and photos of the project.
Local Fame, here I come....

Interview...
"This is your Action News reporter with all the news that is the news across the nation, on the scene at the local COURThouse."
"Today we are here with one Ben Nelson, who was caught doing 25 in a 15 - not a school zone, mind you, but a 15 mph zone just the same - and we are going to try to ask him a couple of questions about the incident, and how he was able to get an electric car with lead-acid batteries to achieve such a speed."
"Mr. Nelson, it is my understanding that your car makes what has been called a "futuristic cougar sound." Can you please explain to the television audience just what that is???"

Wiring Diagrams
Good Evening Ben,
I am going to hi-jack your thread for a moment.
I posted a link to the Wiring Diagrams for the 1996 Geo Metro un the "Repair Manuals" thread. After some thought, I believe they would be easier for people to find here in Bens thread. That said;
http://ecomodder.com/1996%20Geo%20Me...20Diagrams.pdf
I hope they do you well. I have used these for many years now. I find them the easiest to read and understand.
Enjoy. Shultz
...and now back to your regularly scheduled programming...
(Moderator Note: The Metro Diagram File is rather large. You may want to Right Click and select Download Linked File As, rather than open the file directly in your browser.)

I've been threadjacked!!!
Really, Paul, thanks for the diagrams.
I am honored to think that the first place people would look for wiring diagrams is in my car thread.
When I was coming home from the grocery store tonight, I realized the UPSIDE of not having a heater. Ice cream doesn't melt. Soda doesn't get warm, and beer wouldn't either.
I can't wait to try out this feature this summer!

Which leads me to ask...
Are you still having trouble with the lights?
Page 19 is the headlights diagram.
There are 2 headlight fuses under the dash, they should be hot (battery positive) at all times.
If you remove the DRL Module and turn the light switch on and off you should be able to hear the relay click in the relay box. You may need a set of ears under the hood to help.
IF...
You have the DRL unplugged, and
You can hear the relay, and the
Fuses have power on both sides.
Then there is a break in the circuit between the dimmer and the lights. I have seen several dimmer switches go bad, ...but..., The bad switches would allow at least one set, either high or low beams, to work.
Let me know if this helps. You may have a different problem. There has been some tampering with the wiring in your car, or so I've been told. It may be an Oprah conspiracy. We'll work it out.
Schultz

I forgot, with the drl unplugged you will only get high beams.
Lets get through the first step and work on from there.

The appointment at the inspection station is on Tuesday.
Seeing all the fun and notoriety I've been having laterly, I'm sure the inspection will be interesting as well.
