If you're "grid-tied", then your solar is subsidized by the rest of the ratepayers, because if everyone did as you do, the grid wouldn't function. Each additional unit of solar to the grid becomes more expensive to accommodate. A single house producing solar doesn't even have to be factored into grid operations, but scale that up and it becomes significant.

If you're not grid-tied, that's either a luxury or necessity based on where you're located.

I expect a gradual transition away from fossil fuels, but that will have more to do with the natural progression of technology, and less about being admonished by autistic girls.

It's not actually. We're socialists ( COOP ), but we don't impose on each other. I pay an extra penny per kWh to get wind-farm generated power from West Texas. Some, who use 200-kwh or more a month can pay extra for blocks of solar- farm power. Otherwise, it's natural gas, nukes, and hydroelectric. I'm pretty sure we're off coal.
If I were an 'expectation ' guy, I'd expect them to use the full 30-years for the transition.

Texas definitely still uses.
The only big state to claim they don't use coal is California but that is a thinly vailed lie.

The travail in the vale is thinly veiled.

Texas have Tesla and SpaceX. They need modular nuclear for Mars. Best to start mass producing them now to gain the experience.

Texas's windfall.

Texas Coal

In 2020, Warren Buffet's Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railroad ( BNSF ) carried 1,400,000, mile-long trainloads of coal into Texas.

Elon Musk and nukes

Something that may already be in the pipeline, that you'll never hear about, for national security reasons.
Monitor the security fence placards around Boca Chica over time, and watch for 'DEADLY FORCE AUTHORIZED' to appear. That will be the tipoff.

I'd heard that things are bigger in Texas, but I had no idea. That thing would have no brakes.
