New Mexico power utilities

Your little, myopic anecdote seems to have no bearing on the history, or performance of publicly-owned utilities in the United States.

We stand to lose the entire planet because of the ' freshwater economists.'
The reason they hate communism is that, they know that they can't compete against it. The reason they push for a communist USA. Just as predicted in 1976, by my Sociology professor.
Such a thing exists:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saltwa...ater_economics

They push for what they hate? My professors were pushing the French Existentialists, laying the groundwork for the Marxists. And they talked about the air forces of the USofA and USSR conspiring behind their respective governments backs.

Fact has a dependency on truth. Just because truth seeking is difficult is not evidence of its non-existence; the statement of which requires the assumption that there is truth. It's a self-defeating proclamation; "there is no truth; and that's the truth".

If truth is non-existent, than all action is equally justifiable, which is why chaos based ideologies such as communism are doomed to failure.

I do not fear untruth because it's "unsustainable"; I only grieve the needless suffering by millions when iterations of the same failed ideology are experimented with. Some tests do not require repeating and have little added value except to be yet another confirmation of the potential for unimaginable suffering it causes.

The 'Invisible Hand' Adam Smith?
They've moved right, we're moving left. The only way to compete, is to join them.
* The object is a command and control / capitalist hybrid, with the appearance of public participation. It began in 1888 with corporate 'personhood.'
* Yes, the same Adam Smith, co-opted by capitalists, just like pediphile, Horatio Alger, who became the poster child for free-market capitalists, with his rags to riches B.S..
* Smith hung out with atheists.
* Smith was a monarchist.
* Smith was not a 'Republican.'
* Smith did not advocate for republics.
* Smith witnessed enough abuses of the British East India Company to last him a lifetime. He was no friend of corporations.
* From Smith's home window, he could view the docks, where whiskey was traded for wine. That was the context of his laissez-faire.
* The base commander of the U2 Airfield on Okinawa Island, Japan, had no knowledge of the spy-plane operations. As far as the folks, higher on the food chain were concerned, the General didn't have a need to know what was actually going on on his own base. I suspect that it's the same with the 'White House.' There appear to be folks, whom remain on the job, as presidents come and go, who are tasked with keeping the planet in one piece, despite sabre rattling and geopolitical brinksmanship. After all, some people's careers depend on a stable supply of enemies. And it feeds the necessary 'nationalistic' spirit of the duped citizens, whom may be conscripted from time to time, to do the bidding of the one-percenters.

truth

Truth is relativistic, elastic, malleable, contextual, transient...................
In recent history, the most intellectual people on the planet were certain that the existence of witches was a 'truth.'

Said no one ever: "Three chords and the facts."

edit: Yay for bullet points.

I haven't parsed out who're 'they' and 'we'. Looking at the politiclal parties from without, the Blue Ds are racing leftward while the Red Rs have shifted around a bit but remain right of center.

The compete/join conflation eludes me. Left-right is no more significant than authoritarian-libertarian.

Nothing wrong with atheists as long as they don't melt down like a 2 year old at the mention or suggestion of god.

The left is unhinged compared to 20 years ago. But the good news is they act like they already won so they show the their true crazy and that's why they will fail.

left / right

* Communists have moved right, by allowing private ownership and entrepreneurial capitalism, while maintaining top-down, command and control.
* We're moving left, pushing hedonic adaptation with consumer-capitalism, which self-enslaves the citizen via loose credit, mortgage debt service, and fear of job-loss and foreclosure, keeping the curious away from D.C., and all its machinations which go on while one sleeps.
* The average family is obsessed with just making it through to the next paycheck, unable to invest intellectual attention to anything bigger than the price of rent, eggs, or gasoline; and the neighbor's trip to the Los Angeles River.
* You can be as individualistic as you want, as long as it dovetails into one of Baskin-Robins, 32-flavors of approved lifestyles, as offered through Wall St..
* It's a perfect system.
* We'll end up structurally identical to Russia and China, but we'll have OUR flag, and OUR identity.

That's not moving right, that's bouncing up and down some weird superposition on the left.
