DDG seems to give me the same search results as Google, which is to say obscuring attempts to find facts on certain topics.

It gets complicated
REUTERS Fact Check-No deal between DuckDuckGo and Microsoft to track users online
Quote:
Mitrano added that DuckDuckGo is, for the most part, regarded as keeping its promise in not profiling users, and is distinguished from Google and Bing for not collecting user information to sell ads.
“Yes, (DuckDuckGo makes) its money on selling advertisements,” she said. “But it doesn’t do that individual profiling. So it’s not running those scripts to get all that information about the individual.”
VERDICT
Missing context. Users are sharing an outdated story without the context that DuckDuckGo has eliminated a gap in its tracker-blocking feature that previously allowed some Microsoft tracking scripts on third-party websites to load.

Brave roasts DuckDuckGo over Bing privacy exception

Search biz hits back at 'misleading' claims, saga lifts lid on Microsoft's web tracking advice
....
"Trackers try to get around cookie blocking by appending identifiers to URL query parameters, to ID you across sites," he explained.
DuckDuckGo is aware of this, Eich said, because its browser prevents Google, Facebook, and others from appending identifiers to URLs in order to bypass third-party cookie blocking.
"[DuckDuckGo] removes Google’s 'gclid' and Facebook’s 'fbclid'," Eich said. "Test it yourself by visiting https://example.org/?fbclid=sample in [DuckDuckGo]’s macOS browser. The 'fbclid' value is removed."
"However, [DuckDuckGo] does not apply this protection to Microsoft’s 'msclkid' query parameter," Eich continued. "[Microsoft's] documentation specifies that 'msclkid' exists to circumvent third-party cookie protections in browsers (including in Safari’s browser engine used by DDG on Apple OSes)."

Yeah, but I don't care about people knowing my search history and unsuccessfully targeting ads to me. I want to search for "how many Elbonians were arrested for hate crimes in 2022", and not get results for how many white folks were.

It's hard to ad someone who searches ghost gun stuff, silencers, stuff about 40mm grenade launchers and memes.
I might buy a memory card with all the groomer memes that Google, twitter, instagram and reddit disappeared.

I everyday carried an M-79 at one point.
I'd like a Can Cannon for various things, like shooting a grapple line over tall tree's branches.

The Lippisch P.12, P.13a and P.13b were related design projects for a ramjet-powered delta wing interceptor aircraft studied in 1944 by German designer Alexander Lippisch. The P.12 and P.13a were unarmed, relying on reinforced wings to ram its opponent. The P.13a and b were to be powered by powdered coal.

Yeah the M79s are just bonkers expensive these days.
Now a coal powered airplane, that's thinking outside the box. That's nuts that it actually works.

You lived my childhood playtime. Who knows how many hours I spent with those green plastic soldiers?
When Desert Storm happened, I became interested in the news all of a sudden, mostly just to see tanks and Warthogs, and Apaches...
It was because my parents socialized me to play with guns
