IEA: electric cars are stupid and won't fix the climate
If CO2 was really going to kill us all in 12, 20 or 50 years then coal fired power plants would already be eliminated for nuclear.
If eliminating CO2 production is key to survival then replacing gasoline cars with electric is like fixing a roof leak by painting over the water spots.

Eliminating CO² is way more troublesome than what some folks try to portray it. On a sidenote, even those potheads who grow their own weed indoors have to resort to bottled CO²

There are numerous, easily searchable articles that claim California is coal free.
But https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sear...neration_Plant is still showing active not only that but it appears there are plans to build more coal fired power plants in California pending approval.
It also appears southern California is anything but coal free even when the one coal fired plant is down for maintenance, it turns out they totally dependent on outsourced coal power too.

Charging up all those clean electric vehicles lol.
So not only are they liars and hypocrites they are bad liars and easily found out hypocrites.

Here is a SECRET the government does not want you to know
if you want to fix this
START WITH THE COAL FIRES
OVER 100 of them burning around the world
45 or so in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania IS A GROSS Polluter....
Also we need to recap 3.5 million (or more) abandon LEAKING methane wells
IF were going to SPEND 1 trillion on FIXING something we should have put the money there. instead of lining pockets at the poor peoples expense

Don't disagree. Not sure if it's something within our control.
Maybe a carbon dioxide sequestration project?

The only carbon dioxide sequestration we need is just to have nuclear power.

How does one put out subterranean coal fires with nuclear power?

Along the same line of thinking I have when talking about other pollution problems.
Some company will advertise that they will spend some portion of a purchase to clean up plastic from the ocean. Either spend that money slapping those putting plastic in the ocean, or let me keep those extra bux.
Recently someone mentioned an autonomous robot that removes garbage from the beach. I want an autonomous robot that slaps people in the face as they litter, then makes them pick up the trash.

Using the same volume of all the leaking methane as a motor fuel would be more sustainable than present-day obsession for EVs.
