The allure and excitement in the of the quest for 'too cheap to meter' electricity appears to remain irresistible for a few out of each successive generation.
I got help a long time ago, navigating the 'wisdom' of promoting the concept of 'free and unlimited' use of energy. Even if it could be achieved.
I experience some primordial, triune-brain stem repulsion to the notion of 'limitless', 'unbounded' so-called 'living.'
I didn't evolve for it. I don't like the idea.

I will continue to thoroughly enjoy the remnants of solar 'fusion' which freely make the eight and a half minute voyage through space to my sensory apparatus.

Rather than Columbia School of Broadcasting, 'objective', vetted, fact-checked 'information,' reported objectively, program editors may cull all potential 'news', with an eye for dog-biting people who'll drive in viewership.
ABC World News does it 5-evenings a week. Their choice of wording attempts to 'frame' how the viewer would be preferred to 'experience' the presentation. The audience cannot be trusted to experience without spin.
I just watched the mid-1970s motion picture 'NETWORK' for the first time. Ned Beatty's character is to die for!

* The parent sunspot continued with lesser flares for several days

It's strictly limited to wavelengths which comprise the visible and ultraviolet spectra. Nothing else can make it past the upper atmosphere.
We're always immersed in plasma from the solar wind. Shockwaves can accelerate it to near the speed of light, but if it's not pointed at us, it doesn't make any difference.
The geomagnetic storms don't necessarily do anything to us either. We get more than two days to do what we need to do before it hits.

All that above us and telluric currents below. We live in a dielectric plenum [like a cocoon]. Heaven forfend there should be leakage as 'blue jets' or 'red sprites' overhead.
