Wiper delete
I deleted my wipers over the weekend and like the streamlined look from the driver’s seat. The wipers are not "hidden" from the wind at all on this truck unlike most cars so I suspect I should get a measurable gain. This morning I hit a very solid 33.5 on the way in to work. It would have been better but I had a little bad luck at the start with some stop lights. I was getting around 40 on many of the straights. With a little luck I think I could hit a new one way record of 36 soon!

Hit my best tank so far, and finally beat a record I set while asleep in my car last year (my buddy driving on long road trip who nearly ran us outa gas in the middle of the night) So there, my record is now mine again. 32.39 mpg with EPA of 22 for my decrepit dungheap.
I'm surprised my closest competition is from graydonengineering driving a truck. I knew my car didn't get good mileage Your truck rocks. We should try to beat each others numbers.

Picked up a 37.5 mpg tank going back home to STL from KC. There was more traffic this time and it was cooler. My coolant temp stayed below 190 most of the time, in contrast to the hot drive to KC which kept the car at about 193-195 degrees. But with that tank I got slightly better FE. Hmm...

Haha, we are about neck and neck in every aspect since it apprears the epa on your car is the same as my truck and we have the same average. I Thanks for the props! I have my work cut out for me if I am going to keep up with your latest tank, nice work! I am very pleased to be getting over 30 consitantly and with a few more planned mods I know I can get to 33! With an EPA of 22, that would be 50% over. There was a time I really struggled to get over 25 on a tank. I owe a lot to Ecomodder.com.

Yay - 68 MPG (Imp) for the last tank. New target is 70.
Not bad, there is some more to come I think.
Off to Glasgow for a couple of days so we'll see how he does on a longer trip.

Even though some miles were done in adverse conditions i increased my fuel economy from 61.86 to 63 mpg (us) or 75.76 imp gal.
I absolutely 100% took advantage of the hills along my route by coasting in neutral,I thought i would have logged better mileage with the amount of coasting i did , it must of just evened out my poorer mpg crowded city miles.. yeah! a improvement.

After two days of commuting I was at 32.4 mpg... Then the family needed a road trip to visit friends and go to the beach. Unfamiliar roads, AC, no EOC, yadda yadda yadda. 30.2 by the time we got home, and two more days of commuting only brought it back up to 31.7.
Okay, in 6 1/2 years of this car I've only had four tanks better than this one, but I'm still complaining.

Wow. Short trips are such a bummer. Just had my lowest tank since February. Still over EPA nonetheless, but only by 11% versus normal 18% or so.
Looking forward to a different commute pattern and a new route to learn, which is fun. Hoping to see some 24's (20% over EPA) before winter.
Lower Fall temps will mean no A/C, but at the expense of slightly longer warmup times.

I'd like to give the folks here a pat on the back. I'm new enough at hypermiling that my percent over EPA is climbing every time I fill up. What's not happening is me moving up on the POE list. I'm up and down a few depending on who gets what for a tankful and when they log it, but I'm watching a crowd that's getting more efficient together. It's good to see.
