49 mpg today and 44.5 mpg so far this tank on the Cruze. It's been pretty easy to beat EPA with this car.

Some temporary financial troubles has forced me to pay more attention to my fuel useage, and so I've forced myself to slow down to the speed limit. Scangauge said 49.2 MPG on the way to work today, and I think that's a record. I can get it to hover around 50 MPG at a steady cruise if I just slow it down! Normally I've been averaging 44 MPG on my 20 mile commutes.

Got a new best of 50.7 mpg going from my folk's back to my place, with lots of uphills in the way since my podunk town is 300 feet higher in elevation than their podunk town. The trip was 45 miles of interstate driving with a few stops along the way. If I hadn't stopped twice, it would have been higher.

My previous best in my old car was 32 mpg, and something in the mid-40's with the current car the last time this trip was completed.

Colder temps and more headlight use is starting to cost me mpgs.
Been running 52-54 mpg where I would have been 56+ this past summer.

I've started shifting earlier. With less pedal pressure it doesn't sound like it's dogging so much at those lower rpm's. Hopefully 100-200rpm lower shifts will show up in tank averages!

Also, getting fed up with giving the thing too much gas and having to use brakes up to a red light. I bump start at 15mph right before stopping and idle at the light. Should I be leaving it off, and using the starter? I've done that a few times but it causes a second or two of delay when taking off on a green.

I'm actually quite proud of this tank. We sat in horrible traffic going to and from the fair, ran bunches of errands, had rain, had a mechanic test driving it and had 40 miles of real rushing, came in below lifetime average for the first time on a "real" tank, and still came in over 30 mpg!

That gives me hopes for my next tank- with rain, another family trip and my wife running errands in it.

Sven7- I leave it off. Why cut your glides off prematurely?

Temps keep droping. Having to fight to keep it above 50mpg for my round trips for work.

Want to do some ecomoding to the car but my wife has reminded me of other unfinished projects that need to be completed before I start a new one. :P

Wow, this is the lowest tank I've had in a while. 21.8 versus the typical mid 23's. Not happy here. I think it's time for a tire pressure check - they feel a bit soft. But other factors definitely played a role here, such as some city driving.

It's that time of year again - gas mileage dropping along with temperatures. About 1 MPG per 10 degrees F. Last tank was only 30.7 MPG, down from 34.9 MPG average for all of last summer.
