Best tank so far in the U.F.O.:

93.9 mpg (US) / 2.51 L/100 km

Mods in place for this tank: 2 or 3 wiper delete, pass. mirror delete, grille block, tires @ 55; engine kill switch; assist/regen inhibit switch (a.k.a. Calpod clutch switch); IMA hybrid battery pack/functions switched ON for ~90% of tank.

Technique: mostly just driving with load during lean burn cruise @ ~100 MPG on the "instant" display on secondary highways (70-80 km/h limit ... 43-50 mph) . Engine off to most turns, stops. It's pretty easy to get fantastic MPG with this car at moderate speeds.

Weird thing: the trip odometer showed 1001 mi / 95.6 mpg for the tank, which conflicted with the main odometer, showing ~930 mi since my last fill (calculated). I went with the main odo for the fuel economy calculations, and will keep a closer eye on the pair of them this time to see if I can figure out what's up.

Had my best full tank with the Cobalt this week, was going for 600 mile tank, but after 55 miles with low range light on, I chickened out and refilled at 573.0. Car indicated 47.5 for the tank, but refill at a station I almost never go to, it calculated to 45.3, still best yet, but not what I was hopping for.

On top of that station was all E10, so will be even tougher to better my number next week. Should have just put a gallon or 2 in to get back to regular station.

It might be worth taking a GPS on the next trip, to see which is correct.

As for mileage-blabbing :
August is indeed the month for records

4.02 L/100km or 58.43 mpg (US) , 70.32 mpg (Imp)
Hägar's best tank so far.

Only moderately excessive regeneration of the DPF - it's been regenerating during 1 out of every 8 km !
Still 4-5 times the normal rate though.

New best tank, 58.9 MPG!

This tank had lots of rain and several tips for work and one long work trip that knocked SG down from 59.8 to 57.3.

still a record tank

The more often I fill up, the less fuel this bloody car uses

I finally broke through the 60mpg ceiling

61.4 mpg or 3.84 L/100km

I have been monitoring TFC (Trip Fuel Cost) on my scangauge more than MPGs as of late. For some reason, my motivation to lower the fuel cost to and from work seems like a greater challenge. It is all psychological..I know I know.. !

71 cents en route to work and 65 cents on my way home. A cool challenge if you ask me. Obviously, the price reference is only good until I have to refuel at a different price.

use your worst gas price in the last year to do the calc, that will give you a data point to compare trips with.
