Sisters seem to have 2 driving modes: Accelerating and braking.
Why does the car in front of me continue speeding to a stop after I started braking?

1997 Civic hatchback with 142,000 miles for $650
Quote:
Honda Civic hatchback. 1997. Mostly sound. It is old. It has been sitting for a couple of years. She ran well when last used. Shifted fine, brakes, etc. The ignition switch is not working properly and I just remote start it, which it starts up just fine. The battery went bad. I have a battery that doesn't fit, but I use it to start it. The seats had seat covers the entire time, so should be nice underneath if the material is sound. The headliner is falling apart. The paint has some big spots that it just flaked off (paint is bad). There is a tiny bit of superficial rust, but zero big rust or any damaging rust. All the glass is intact. The tires are decent. It could be driven, but I would personally tow it and give it a once over before you take off on the streets with it. I will be upfront with all. If you have any questions, just ask.

$1500 Mirage
This was a screaming deal...
One owner, all maintenance receipts, 2 sets of wheels, only120 k kms =~75k miles. Front lower bumper cover was cracked.
Listed by an apparently VERY motivated seller in Montreal last week.
It started out at $2400, but was re-listed at a lower price every day or two ending at $1500! Ad is gone now.
Of course, I just bought another Mirage (yes, #3) in Ottawa the day before at $1800. Highway robbery! Thread coming...

This too was a screaming deal:
Just gifted my second Insight to my brother-in-law after I finished restoring it. No CEL, 4 brand new tires, new 12v battery, every brake and fuel line replaced with NiCopp, all rusted bolts and fasteners replaced with stainless. IMA removed and bypassed, rear cargo area rebuilt to take advantage of the extra space.
Interior is a little rough, but it's as good as I could do without a full parts car at my local junkyard.

How do I rotate my screen? :)
2000 Honda Civic 4 door Sedan - $900 (Surprise)
I am unsure it qualifies, does the autotragic get 35 MPG?
How do you beat a nice-looking car for $900?
No AC. This sounds like it needs components under the dash replaced. Do you know anyone who knows how to do that? 🙂

The A/C system is pretty easy to trace in these cars, but most times they fail at the compressor, or one of the seals keeps letting the refrigerant out.

I was washing my father-in-laws car a couple of years ago, at the end of a sunny day in a busy little harbor town. Lots of tourists and leisure sailors about.
"When you are ready you can do my car too" some of them quipped.
"The owner of this car offered me his daughter's hand" I said. "What's it worth to you?"
