No info on that corolla regarding engine. I don't know what engines the US spec corolla uses, but anyway, if it's the 1.6vvt-i, be cautious. They have a tendency to be oil burners.
Seem to have problems with piston rings IIRC.

$600 for a pair of diesel Smart Fortwos
The ridiculously efficient diesel engine was forbidden fruit to those of you south of the 49th...
I had a chance to drive one of these a few years back:
Slowest car I've ever driven, yet still entertaining (al fresco component had a lot to do with that).
Also ridiculously efficient: Test drive: Smart Fortwo diesel cabriolet - saw 67 mpg US (in 100% city driving)
Highway rating is: 4.7 L/100 km (51 mpg US)
Ad says they're parts cars, but one is complete:

I was confused -- I knew it was your car though!

I understand the gasoline versions are ridiculously unreliable. Is this true of the diesel as well?

The diesel was supposedly OK, provided you followed a careful maintenance routine.

Smart means 'distress' (sorrow, pain, grief) in Dutch. Yet few people notice, even here (until they buy one).

2001 manual Insight with 225,000 miles and dead IMA that looks like pink crap in Phoenix for $700
Someone posted this car, not on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, or OfferUp, but in North American G1 Insighters, a private Facebook group, but they will let anyone in, even me!
Quote:
My daughter is selling this 2001 manual trans, I think it has 225k miles. My daughter has driven it from Phoenix to San Diego a few times with out any issues.
Looks like crap but still gets about 50mpg with a bad IMA. Has ac but no clue if it work because the blower motor is bad.
I’m thinking $700. Fix it up or use it for parts.
Come buy it and drive it home.

Someone: "Was it repainted white!? I’ve always wanted a white Insight."
Seller: "Pink"
Nobody wants a pink Insight!
It is not in Phoenix, but the town of Maricopa "44 minutes" south. One of the last towns before Maricopa is Guadalupe, which is technically southeast Phoenix. I used to have a client there, right off of the freeway. On a good day it took forty-five minutes to get to my client in Maricopa.
Google says they are only 34 minutes apart, but I was never able to get there that fast.
"We are selling because I expect to be moving back to Alaska and I’m giving [keeping?] my insight so we’re selling hers."
Are they moving to Alaska just to get out of Maricopa?

Needs a bit of work, but could be a fun project if nothing is wrong mechanically. IMA issues aren't a problem if you just delete the IMA.
Too much white though; they even repainted the trim white lol.
Pink? I saw that in the group and I'm not exactly sure what he means. That Insight certainly isn't pink!

I thought your Accord was perfect now! Also: it's hard to see the pink in that paint (for me).
Now, the 2014/15 Mirage was way more pink... they called it plasma purple for some reason.
I keep waiting for a super cheap one to turn up because the colour may make it harder to sell. Mitsu dropped that colour and also the radioactive snot green (the one I really want).
