A C130 flies with the rear ramp open, so why not a C 119?

I thought all Ty 2 with the reducing boxes were 3/4 ton. Iirc, they needed special many ply tires to get there however.

So you don't think the table is in the way of the stove or sink?

IIRC the C-130 splits horizontally while the C-119 splits vertically.

I don't disagree about the table, just pointing out what they had to work with. I'd prefer a table on an arm like the newer campers.

With the wider body a swiveling driver's seat might be possible.

Guy I knew named Craig had a yellow std bug with your superbug plywood layout and a van swivel seat for the driver. Rotated clockwise. He was short enough that it became a baja'd out camper.

???? The stock seat is trapped between the door and center tunnel.

Turn the driver's door into a pop-out?

It was one of the first things I noticed. I don't know why, but I like fender mirrors on Beetles.

I would prefer peep mirrors for the shorter sightline. The same size gives a larger field of view. OTOH the Beetle door has a 90 degree flange that complicates things.

My panel van had nuts welded onto the mirror arms with rectangular convex mirrors that mimiced the stock inside mirror's shape. With chrome acorn jam nuts. They gave a great field of view. The inside mirror had a small window 12 feet away.

A classic Beetle with a turbo axle

This is a weird video with a weird guy, but he explained the efforts of a guy who decided 50 years ago that cars needed rockets, culminating in a 1,300 HP turbo axle, which someone installed on a [classic] Beetle, which went airborne, but the driver wasn't hurt:
