Polaris did have a version with Li-Ion batteries but it was discontinued a few years back and cost $23,000. Polaris is suppose to have a new 2022 Ranger EV using Zero Li-Ion EV tech on sale soon.

I saw that in the comments.
I still think a Farm-O-Road with my 68hp Lexus axle and batteries from Jehu Garcia ( https://jag35.com/collections/all would come in under $40K. $12K for a restored Farm-O-Road. $20K tops.
But I don't have the acreage to justify one, so Arcimoto* for me.

Also to electric everything on the road it's going to take at least trillion kwh to power it all.

Are you one of those people that burn coal for their electricity? That's why I said off-grid.

A road trip vehicle perhaps, but an off-grid Crosley Farm-O-Road would be eminently practical

Okay $40K to get the complete infrastructure -- solar panels, power bank, vehicle and a 3D printer to make new polyurethane tires.

How is cheaper not a component of better? I'd wager most everyone thinks cheaper is better.

I recently looked for an EV side-by-side for the farm and was dismayed to find that there's essentially none made.

I was riding my bike around earlier, thinking that bending up a repro Farm-O-Road body out of CO 2 laser-cut 3040 stainless steel might be the cheapest way to go.
1957 Crosley Farm O Road, Interior | GTCarLot.com
Instead of a rusty old Crosley. A diamond-plate floor would be nice.
Another likely candidate, but more complex, is the EMPI Sporster dune buggy in stainless:

Not a fan of Jeep in general, but the Wrangler is the way to go, and I'd be excited to own a plug-in off-road beast.
I owned a Liberty for a couple years and was less than impressed. If one must buy a Jeep, don't get the non-jeepy models.

I meant that EVs are no longer a technical problem. 10 years ago most EVs went less than 100 miles. Now most new EVs have a 250 - 300 mile range.
EV tech is to the point were they will work for most people. Now we need to focus on getting the cost down so more people can afford them.

I think that pretty much sums it up. That and finding a way to keep the EVSE costs, availability and such reasonable too. There's the concern for those who rent and even homeowners that may, by law and code or simply just need to have a very expensive upgrade in order to install an EVSE. I write this from my parents-in-laws' home that's got a single 120V 30A main. My EVSE I had was 240V and needed a 40A breaker. I've even heard of homes with 240V 100 or 150A mains needing to be upgraded for an extremely costly price just to legally install a level 2 EVSE.
