I think this is enough. This thread has become less than useful until some experimentation proves it otherwise, and any other posts should be considered trolling, as far as I'm concerned.
Argument is only effective when used to create innovation, not to augment one's ego.

I agree. I have my own projects to tend to.
I'm 100% done with this thread.

Sorry, but I don't need to understand the chemistry, I only report what I see in the sensors and injector pulses. My findings have duplicated those of others before me, on other cars, by trained automotive techs. You see I didn't believe it either.
Current wisdom is, short of major reprograming of the ECU/computer, is to separate out the Hg (not an easy task to accomplish in itself) then attempt to tweek the sensors into a state that appears to be normal enough that the ECU thinks everything is normal enough and does not "learn" around the changes. This would most likely involve ALL the sensors. Japanese and some newer, high end cars seem to be the hardest to trick.
I can lean the motor out some by very slightly reducing the map output voltage (this also retards the timing some, too much and it goes open loop), but two or three days later it won't start. (D__M ECU!) I may have a go around for this but have not gotten it installed because my S-10 is the family backup and needs to always work and I can take the train to work.
Right after the brakes, the computer is not your friend.

Amazing... Unbelievable, even. You'll do well here.
Very well.

I agree it does not make sense but as atfab noted and hundreds of other users have noted it DOES happen this way. I have a feeling there is a lot more "going on" in our ECU's that is triggering something to cause it to happen. The communites best guess was O2. The reason this seems confirmed is that those who use H2 only seem to not have this problem but then again this is very hard to do so they are not producing much gas probably not enough to actually trigger what is happening in the ECU and also not enough to do anything to mpg.

Is there a way to put a whole thread on ignore?
We need another option under "Thread Tools"

Well, there's the unsubscribe option, which, depending on your preferences, will stop emailing you every time there's an update to a thread...
Of course, you knew that.

I have been through tweeking the incoming air temp and coolant temp sensors also. These seem to to help some but not above the realm of MPG calculation error. Changes on them also retard timing, but do not seem to be "learned" around.
I have also had started building an O2 sensor tweeker called COSM ll, but my efforts were halted this past January do to major cancer surgery. Three months out of work, bills you would'nt believe, no pay and Obama's so called incentives have us in a major bind. So far, my checkup two weeks ago came back clean.
Building a HHO cell seems easy but getting 1L/min, at 10 to 15 amps and thermally stable is not. My last HHO cell was close at 12 amps but prone to overheating when outside temps got above 80 deg/F. Balancing quick start up without overheating, without expensive devices requires lots of trial and error. The fool thing will most likely freeze in the winter too. I live 80 miles north of New York City.
I'm not sure how I will procede right now.
