I'm in the same general camp as you, W_W. Friend requests via snail mail accepted!

--------

Thanks to those who have PM'd so far to volunteer.

We're sorting out how to actually add you as contributors/moderators - looks like you have to accept a friend request from me first, so I'll be sending those out from my fake FB account... "Joe S".

From the television show Psych, Shawn Spencer Speaking to Juliet about their relationship details "...That'd be like posting it on my Facebook page. If I had a Facebook page. Or the desire to share intimate life details with people I avoid on the street." I enjoyed your response lol

If they come onto the site they will pretty quickly learn your true identity (first name, at least). Would Darin M or Darin Metro be better? My first thought of an alias like Joey makes me think malarkey, but it doesn't really matter either way.

I am glad to see this still in motion. This thread may be a great place for people to chime in here and there, and then the deciders can post it up. I'd follow and encourage it, but I feel like I may be fairly easily spotted. Then again, it doesn't take too much to be tracked/identified on the internet.

Mostly I picked a fake name and email address so I'm not inundated by friend requests. Facebook has a way of sucking you into the vortex and I spend enough time on the computer already.

...

So we've got five volunteers signed up, and I've given you rights to post & moderate. That should be good for now. Sounds like 3 or 4 posts a week (total... not each of us!) is a good plan to start with. Thanks, guys!

I've posted a couple things, so far I think this is going to be a good project. Every person that "likes" the page (275 as of this post) now gets updates on their news feed when we post something new. So it's a great way to keep in touch with existing members and others who are interesting in ecomodding.

I'll post updates every week as new stats are generated. These stats will show us how many people our posts have "reached", as well as how many people are liking our page and talking about our page.

Also, if anyone has pictures of their car, modifications, or projects, post them here. I think it would be great to showcase some of our members best work. As they say, pictures are worth a thousand words.

Thanks. I've been checking in on the insights stats as well.

Yup.

Also: I've updated post #1 (this thread) with the current list of EM members who have permission to post under the account.

Also note my suggestion that when posting on Facebook about a personal success/project, let's use our personal accounts. When signed in as "EcoModder", you are no longer a person, you are a forum. So conduct yourself accordingly.

PM'd. I only have about 16 real-life friends on FB so it isn't out of control. Heh.

One request.

Can we please not use hashtags on Facebook? Please?

Yep I saw that recent post about a MPG success. It could have said, "JoeBobMember gets XX MPG in his Make Model Car using some of the 101+ Hypermiling Tips..." with possibly a link to that members profile/fuel log or project thread.

Remember, you cannot edit Facebook posts. If you want to change something you have to delete and repost.
