I think they are already declaring victory because they are plug-in hybrid advocates. When and/or if they get a Volt to tear apart will be a function of time. I could see them replacing the battery pack with a better one that can be drawn down more than the current percentage.

IIRC the Volt's discharge rate just depends on the OEM firmware, not the pack per say. It's so GM won't have to replace the pack even if someone in CA or any other state where it's covered by the 150k mile warranty pulls all 150k miles in EV mode at high'ish discharge rates.

Blah, blah, blah? Apparently you should too!

I'm tired of people throwing fits when someone calls them on something that they demonstrably (Especially when it's false) don't know is true. If someone calls me on any of my crap I'll be happy to provide a link validating it and tend to initially because it's also good to provide sources, and if it turns out to be BS because I screwed up then that's how it is.

Totally! Classic cars were super safe. Not like these plastic trash heaps they sell today.
Evidently many feel that a head-on is all but inevitable. I'd suggest contemplating the odds of such an occurance, and then living life accordingly.

Hey guys, play nice.

If you are stating "facts", references, links, etc. to back them up are appreciated.

Name calling is not.

Opinions are welcome, and don't need to be backed up by anything, they are just opinions.

Welcome Opinions: "I really like the styling of the Volt."
or "I really rather don't care for it."

Bad opinion: "Yeah, well I think it's ugly, so YOU suck."

In all web forums, try to stay on topic and have a meaningful and upbuilding discussion. That's what makes it a fun and interesting place to be.

Is this the same rationale that got that Suzuki exec skewered here so badly? ;p

I think that's when, not it. And people as a whole will not become interested one millisecond before they have to.
