Well I tried it out tonight

I only hooked up one actuator (both are fully set up I just undid one wire). The actuator fired just fine, but the epoxy broke right off the grate slider (plastic).

I need some ideas on better attachment ideas.
On this pic you can see the lever that needs moving via the actuator rod:

Ideas please!!!

I'd try to attach it to this bar. Maybe where the brass rivet is?

what does the grate slider connect to? Could you screw it to the slider?

it connects to the rotating stuff (in pic above you post) and to the louvers via the brace rivet.

Patrick: how would you take the vertical motion and move it so it does not bind?

i would put a screw through the slider but if that didn't work why wouldnt pushing on the brass rivit work? isnt the actuator and the slider parallel? simply connect something between them.

Can you move the vent assembly towards the rear of the car some, maybe 1", so that the vent bar and the rod from the actuator are in alignment vertically? If so, you might be able to put a screw or rivet through the open hole in the vent bar so that it actuates directly. Hopefully the actuator rod has enough play/movement to allow for the front-back movement of the vent bar.

The slider is plastic and thin, any screw will break it

If I turned the grate around I could attache the acuator to the bras rivit spot, but how to do that with a round rod?

the actuator does have some play to work with.

How to attache the round rod to the hole in the vent bar?? the rod is like 1/8" or less in diameter.

Can you adapt that clamp that's shown in the pics? Or maybe a bicycle brake cable clamp?

hmm if you have a threaded rod you could drill a hole in the plastic knob put the rod through and put a lock nut on each side of the knob?

edit; nm its pretty slim
