that has to be a scam.
let me guess..the shmuck made it fule injected as well.
not even a zerod self balancing boxer engine stays safe past 60mpg. What in hell does this guy think hes doing? mismeasuring a gallon with a different chemical? I can assume that is part of the liquified gas equation.."gallon" too funny. deflate that gallon back down to 22mpg like all the ridiclous inline engines known to man and keep money where it belongs: a real engine for one, let's start there...

I wish he would report the E85 miles per gallon and not give the 100% gasoline value. His numbers are not even believable as is. And they're ruining the top 10 fuel economy with his numbers.
A commenter believes he's only using the 15% gasoline to calculate the usage. If you get 16 mpg with E85 well that's only 15% gasoline* right? Divide 16 by 15% and you get where his numbers make sense, 106 MPGe. Which is wrong because Ethanol has value too, it's not empty, it has energy. Which with 16 mpg is really 85% of Ethanol's energy 76k BTU + 15% of Gasoline's energy 116k. E85 has 70.7% of the energy content of Gasoline which means it's the miles per gallon gasoline equivalent of 22.63 MPGe. Which is only moderately better than a stock V8 at highway cruise. Theoretically it should only be 4-5% off depending on driving style but I don't believe he's running stock. His numbers for power and fuel economy line up with the theory of increasing compression ratio in an engine. Which also increase max power output.

It's newsworthy in that the journalist is attempting to remain as neutral as possible while keeping some media spotlight on the story. I don't know about you but it seems to me that the brighter the light shone on this dorkus the sooner people will see him for what he is.
I think your comments are a bit unfair to the reporter, who looks to me to be doing a professional job of it -- unlike most of the other so-called 'reporting' these days which is actually either op-ed or advertising.

I disagree in this instance. While I don't like op-ed and advertising disguised as news, and in politics for example I respect neutrality, this is none of that.
When something is clearly impossible and is being reported on as if it's factual to a public that is in no position to do the appropriate research it's the reporter's job to fact check.
What if she reported that someone had succeeded in creating a device that, once wound, would produce useable power with no further input due to some mechanical contrivance? What about an instance of alien abduction? Either is as likely as getting 136.85 miles per gallon (explicitly NOT MPGe) out of E85 in a Mustang (this is a number directly off the "Test Data" page of HP2g's web site Hp2g.com).
Her "neutrality" gives HP2g credibility it doesn't deserve.

How about a filter that replaces links to that idiots web site with something else so he doesn't get traffic from here? If he can't get links from here or any other benefit then maybe he will go away
Just keeping a working link on this site makes his page look better so I say any link to that site should be automatically changed to a site or even an old thread on here making fun of that stupid car.

Might as well let him get the traffic since nothing we say about him is good

Speaking of the Top 10 List (which I ordinarily never look at) the Citroen at #6 seems a bit suspicious to me. ONE fuel log entry with a bogus date? Does that car really weigh that little?
How to keep the riff-raff outta that list?

I just joined this forum, mainly to post about Palmear. I recently heard of him on a stock market message board. He recently partnered up with a real stinker of a company that's supposedly gonna build the "Verde", with his engine installed. Doug's latest claim is that he has 300,000 orders for motors. And just Friday, he convinced the CEO of Poet, the largest ethanol maker, to partner up with him. Even got him to pose in front of the Mustang. Dunno how he manages stuff like this, including getting all the press.
Thanks to all here who have contributed their thoughts. I've found other critical info elsewhere, but all has helped. I've put links over on the stock message board. This stock, by the way, is Revenge Designs, symbol RVGD. Its CEO is smellier than Doug. Nothing he's projected has come to pass. The stock trades at .0003.
I'm liking the forum, as well. I've always been economy minded, to some degree. My bro has several old VW's, incuding one TDI that he's putting in either an old Rabbit, or one of his Golf's. I forget which...
