Thur 31 July
I just returned from the yard.
Boy I'm disappointed.
They haven't even started removing the old GM stuff so they can put up new stuff.
Another engine may not happen.
Johnny, I'm all for re-ringing what I've got, I wanted another unit so I can drive this while I build that. No worries about the oil check valve, I have one saved.
I have done several of the G10 motors that way.
You are correct in the belief that they are near bulletproof.
I was able to get 2 13 inch wheels but had to carry them to Ralphs so I could pull the old rubber off and get my $25 back for that.
They charge $12.5 for the tire and $5.0 for the steel wheel
even if the tire has cord showing.
I also got a chin spoiler for my wifes car.
Remember I can't do anything to it that doesn't look stock.
This is from a Blazer and it will fit darn near perfect under her car and look as if it came factory.
Yes I will take pics of the Seatectomy and Organ replacement.
It shouldn't be too hard, every thing measures well.
Pics also of the spoiler install

Not much to report yet
Another early day for Schultz
Took the Grandson,(he's the one in the tree) to get school supplies first thing this am.
Yes, 08:00 am.
Began working on the Seatectomy (which went well, pull bolts, throw seats) around noon
Began working on install Integra seat (1st one)
Not as easy a replacement as I had originally thought.
Taking a break now before more cutting and then some welding.
I began with the passenger seat, thinking it would be easiest to cut my teeth on, so to speak.
I was wrong. Pictures coming.
Later.
S.

Sit Back, it's gonna be a long one
So today, after going school shopping, I started the seat swap in my metro.
My old seats are tired, worn and just plain uncomfortable.
I'm in charge of the Boy today, So he is helping.
This is my 8yr old Photojournalist.
This is a seatless Metro
Bottom of seat.
Remove sliders (some shots are missing, the Photog was playing with the camera and ............poof................they disappeared)
then match everything up with the new seat. (another disappeared shot)
Still disassembling.
It doesn't work the way I thought it would, theres gonna be some fire involved.
Be back soon,
Gotta go,
S

O.K. it wasn't long, heres the rest
So you see,
the bottom of the Geo is a flat mount, but the bottom of the Integra is not, flat on one side and 90* on the other.
Hard to tell here though.
On your left is a slider that bolts to the side if the seat, and keeps the seat belt latch as well. On the right is a plain slider that bolts straight up.
I disassemble the old seat to see how we can make this work.
I mate them together and see where to cut.
Let the fun begin.
I needed to stretch my legs after a few hours of cutting and fitting and testing and etc. (Don't you love my Second Amendment shirt?)
This is what happens to a 4.5 inch cutting wheel after several hours of noise.
Geez Grampa, aren't you done yet?
Tacked together, I will do the final welding tomorrow.
we are running out of daylight and its time to clean up and relax.
Doesn't everyone carry a Channel Lock bottle opener?
Some Observations;
Don't try this at home,
I am a trained professional.
Sometimes a task is way easier to Visualize than it is to Accomplish.
I may still have to buy seats.
I am pretty sure this will work.(but I've been wrong before)
I still have to do the other one.
I should start earlier tomorrow, before the sun gets really hot.(you can't see it but my biggest problem is sweat dripping in my eyes.)
My plan is to use the mounting metal from the Geo seat and weld it to the Integra mount and re-bolt that to the seat. Use some extra metal to strengthen it and support everything.
Any who, thats all for today folks.
Schultz out.

Duh
Sorry No Pictures,
I worked and worked and forgot
so you'll just have to use your imagination and beep out all the cussing.
I welded the cannibalized Geo seat parts to the Integra seat
and Guess What?
It won't work.
Too much metal in the way for the mechanism to operate well.
in the words of my Grandson
"Duh, Grampa"
So I cut it all up
and started over,
then in a flash of brilliance (OK, a little spark)
An Idea
My neighbor is having a yard sale (whats that got to do with the price of cheese)
Hold on counselor, lets see where he's going with this.
There is an old bed-frame there. (see it yet?)
$2.oo usd later (he wanted $5.oo I told him what was up and gave him all the change in the Geo)
I had frame work for the sliders.
I welded some angle iron ( thats all bed-frames are anyway)
to the Integra seat (much easier than welding sheet metal too)
and fabricated a mount for the right runner.
!!!!!!!!!!OOOOH!!!!!!
and it works lovely.
I will get pics tomorrow.
It started to rain on me and I'm allergic to high tension electricity and rain.
Tomorrow am
Yes 08:00 am
I will begin work on the driver seat.
With all my wealth of knowledge now
Graduate
Someone Came Loudly
School of Hard Knocks
I should be able to get it done in a couple of hours.
maybe less.
I know what I need and,
what to cut, and
where to weld,
So my biggest problem is pulling all my tools and equipment from the mess of my garage and then cleaning it all up when I'm done.
TTFN,
Schultz

Those seats look much more cozy than the stock ones. I know mine are not the best, but heard the older models like yours have really crappy seats. I also heard that seats from other vehicles can be adapted to work by simple making new mounting holes in the floor, bending the rails for the 90 degree front mounts, and bolting them in directly. I never tried, so not sure about that.
I hope those seats flip forward for rear seat entry! Some do not.

seat pics
O.K. here we go
Piece of the Integra seat mount
Measuring how much to cu and trying to make it square
Tack frame piece on
Weld completely
Top and bottom
Clean and check your work,
I use a gas-less welder, the weld isn't as pretty, but I don't have to worry about keeping tanks in my garage
"Tanks for da mammories"
Install parts and admire.
or rest.
I used a 1/2 inch nut as a spacer to raise the seat a little.
The rest of the hardware I had on hand.
Install in car and relax.
I will be moving them to the rear another couple of inches.
After driving to work yesterday I realized I hadn't compensated for the Integra seat length.
No problem
I still have lots of frame rail left.
Just add some to the front and move my bolt holes accordingly.
Maybe weld a box from the angle iron to eliminate the spacers and weld that to the Integra mounts.
They are much more comfortable than the original seats.
Which as Johnny pointed out
Were not much to start with.
Tomorrow
Another trip to the yard and if they have no motors
I will start rebuilding mine.
Also looking for two more 13inch rims.
