I will pick up what I can and bring it to the gathering.

Motor is in. Forgot to hook up the shifter rods or else it would be able to drive again

So Saturday is put the xfi cam in, and do whatever random other stuff needs done and that is about it. Should be able to have the car heading back on its way to VA by afternoon.

Well metroschultz went home with the pictures in his camera so I only have a few pics to post. As soon as he wakes up I am sure he will post them. But here is what I have.

He has all the pictures of actually installing the engine. I just had that one. I had some other random pics like when a friend wanted to play with the tractor so I sent her out to beat on a junk metro.

And one pic of him leaving. I had to show him what dirt road to take over the mountain for a short cut getting out of here. This pic was at the bottom of the mountain right when he was starting up the hill.

The car has the engine out of the junk 97 model that was getting flattened in that one pic. It has around 200psi of compression in each cylinder so it was the best one I had. We put the xfi camshaft in it and set the ignition to 8 degrees. It also has the swift 3.52 transmission in it. Seems like a really good running car now.

Sounds like Captain Slow is going to be even slower now with that XFi camshaft. Thanks for being a stand up guy and helping a Geo brother out like that. Looking forward to meeting some of you at GeoPalooza.

Hacksaw.

EDIT: I'm gonna make a change to my ignition timing as well. I left it at the stock setting of 5 degrees BTDC after my XFi cam install, but 8 BTDC sounds better to me...did you try to go further (like 10 degrees BTDC) but had to back off some?

Too bad I cannot make it up there for that. Sounds like a lot of fun. This is a great thread, and it's great to have the collaboration goin' on!!!

Rick got his pics up here before I did,
Good shot of my F.A. working over the Metro.
Most of my pics came out dark and I'm cleaning them up now.
