Well, to each his own I guess on the TC/SC part of the debate. That red car is absolutely beautiful. I wish I could own such a magnificent work of art.

Post them somewhere else, then copy the URL.
I used an external source for a while, but I think it's easier to make an album on your User Control Panel page.

Has anyone mentioned ignition? Points-and-condenser are only in tune when they are set and then they begin to drift out. A drop-in replacement like the Perlux Ignitor helps. The Magna-Spark distributor I have is for four cylinders but uses a Ford cap and rotor. It is available in 3 or 4 levels, from a 'stock' red coil, to MSD compatible, to fully digital without a rotor.

So that's like five or six possible levels, and there are ignitions that use a coil for every 2 cylinders.

I plan on using a duraspark II factory ford electronic ignition, for reliability simplicity, performance, and economy.

What do you guys think ill give me the best gains aero wise?thanks
Looks like a great project!!!

On the Mustang in the above pics we used a cheap set of EBAY 351W headers flipped around. You can build a inexpensive turbo setup if you can do some welding or like me have a great friend do it for you.

To post the images directly in the thread (and not have to click on them), copy Photobucket's "Direct" text on the right side under "Shared Links". Then in your post editor, click this button: , paste the text and press ok. It will show up as an image.

For the Mustang, if it were me, I'd build a turbo four cylinder that ran off boost at highway RPM. But for your V8, get either a high geared rear axle or a quickchange so you can gear it up without having to run tall rear tires. Keep the RPM's low!

For aero, get an aftermarket engine temp gauge to make sure you don't ruin anything, then start closing up grille openings up front as much as you can. Then, build a big air dam. Land speed racer guys have some good stuff out there, and there are many threads on EM about DIY air dam builds. Throw on some smooth wheel covers afterward.

These mods are transferable:

Another good bumper:

I know you're against boat tails, but you could probably snoop around and figure out how to make a cool looking land speed racing style flat spoiler. After all, most gains will be at the rear of the car. The Enduro's spoiler might actually reduce drag by reducing lift (win/win situation); I don't know for sure.

I know this is your build, but even obd1 would be better that carb. And you're leaving a lot of power on the table by not going higher compression.

IMO for street, lower compression with high boost is better than high compression with low boost. While under boost, you have your power, while not under boost, you get decent mileage.

The 302 It would be FULL roller valve train, compared to the 351s flat tappet cam and lighter. The ONLY reason why i wanted go carb was because its cheaper than getting all the efi stuff+a tune, Thanks everyone!
