At least the Fisker having an on-board genset, it's more versatile not just to city commuting but also safer for longer-range road trips.

Saw this Opel Combo (rebadged as a Chevrolet in the South-American markets where it was also offered) in my most recent trip to Uruguay in July. It's fitted with a 60hp Isuzu 4EE1 non-turbocharged Diesel.

That's what was available in Brazil instead of the Combo...

The wider rear axle doesn't deny its origins, however...

Whoa, does that last one come in a diesel as well? It looks like a modern VW Rabbit pick up.

There were Diesel versions, but those were restricted to export markets.

How about a fleet of electric vans and a flat deck?

Vantage GreenVans and a GreenTruck. A local university was using them on campus, and now they are running them through an auction unreserved. Too bad they are low speed only so I couldn't use one where I live.

I looked at those pics and thought... the images are distorted! But I guess they really are that tall/skinny.

Yup, they really look like that! Vantage Vehicle International, Inc.

I'd be curious to know what they are worth new, as I am pretty sure they will sell for dirt cheap.

All three of those vans/trucks sold for around $2500. The guy I share a shop with bought one of the vans, I am sure he'll get bored with it and I can trade him for a broken 4x4 or something come next summer lol. Once he gets it back to the shop I will try it out, but I'll let him drive it there - there is a stretch of one lane highway full of fast moving big trucks that he has to take it down, good luck with that!

I saw my first Volt last night. Trying to push his way through heavy traffic.
