Focus-Ak -- Which? The Previa?
Quote:
Toyota Previa
Longitudinal and rear wheel drive, the engine sits on its side under the driver's seat. The 2.4L 4 cylinder is an over square engine with 95 mm bore and 86 mm stroke. The 5 speed has a .8 fifth and a 3.91 final which gives 2500 RPM at 65 mph. Rating is only 16/20 - 18 combined mpg. If one with a broken rear end is found, it can be change to a chevy 3.07:1 then it would run at 1980 rpm at 65 mph.

First Pontiac showed their TranSport concept and Toyota cloned it. Then Pontiac released it's production version and it was a wedged-out shovel nose, not the bluff forebody the Previa has. If you look at the top* view Template, the maximum camber is at 60% of the wheelbase, much like the VW Beetle. Lots of potential there.
Edit: *Actually, it's the side view. The top view is at 100% of the wheelbase. There's a scaling issue—the pictures are normalized to the boattail length.

Well there is a '96 Swift 2 door with 67k kms (41k miles) at the auction. But being a Swift it will be a 4cyl, and it also only has two pedals on the floor, not three. I think MetroMPG is going to ban me if I post pictures of any more autotragedies so I'll just mention it in passing haha

Oh man. I've seen 2 Swifts with low-ish km lately around here, both rusted to pieces.
You know, on the subject of how prohibitively expensive it is to ship a cheap car across the country from rust-free B.C., someone asked me recently, "is it cheaper if you ship a whole truckload at once?"

Ahhhh, I like your thinking! Step into my office and lets hammer out the paperwork haha. And yes, it's way cheaper to do a truckload. When I export cars to the USA, it costs me close to $300 to have a single car driven from Vancouver to Seattle. I can send an entire truck, with 7 or 8 cars (depending on their weight), for $1390. So $200 or $175 a car by the time you break it down.

I try to get out, but they keep dragging me back in! This sold for scrap, so it's now my new yard car to get around at the big auction here. The place is 110 acres, so it'll come in handy. Original paint, rust free '94 Metro 1.0L 5 speed. Nearly new 12 inch radials (where do you even buy those anymore?), even a fresh oil change. 310k kms (192k miles), and the stereo works haha. I'll take it!
The boss saw it and just shook his head, "Purrs like a rabid cat" was all he said when I started it and drove away haha.

Nice. Why is it always the right front hubcap that is missing?

First wheel to hit the curb, if you can't parallel park?
