Current sensor

Paul,
what is projected for the SR controller current sensor?
Are we still in the path of the LEM HASS 300-s?
if so, We will be able to upgrade to higer current handling (600) with out much softw. modification?
Thank you

You wont have to worry about upgrading current sensors until you pass 900A. Thats as high as the LEM HASS Series can read.

I probably don't know enough to be posting about the LEM but if you need more than 900 amps could you just have two parallel conductors and only measure the current in one of them with the LEM? You would be measuring half the current but you could just adjust the software accordingly...

In theory the idea works fine, but you have to guarantee that the both conductors would be sharing current evenly. If they are not, you reading will be off.

I have some 2uf x1500vdc with tabs for direct mounting to the IGBT terminals but this are to physicaly large for my application.
Witch value you used for the poly film cap in the capacitor rails and the IGBTs in your last controller build?
I have to place a parts order for the LEM HASS and would like to include the capacitors also.

OK part number CENTRON CSA-1V

Now, the centron was soldered to a single sided pcb. For a measurement range of 0-1016amp, the bottom of the pcb needs to be 0.75" away (actually 0.754") from the bus bar. That's 12 bare fiberglass boards (pcbs without the copper). Higher temperatures make the current read slightly less than it actually is.

I also ordered a part (that's on a 25 week back order) that should be able to be much closer to the bus bar.
What ever happened to the testing on the 1000amp current sensor

The caps are 1uf 250v poly. not ideal but its what my supplier had in stock. Also count me in for the drivers.

Sorry for the late response on here just haven't had time to post but my situation hasn't changed so I just went back to the arduino pwm that I had only problem now is that revolt board fried almost all my fla batteries within an instant I think this board needs some serious disclaimers put into the wiki because what I originally thought was if the yellow LED didn't blink then everything was ok but apparently that is not the case if I would have known that if even one component like the NAND or comparator were bad and would cause my whole power section to blow up I probably would have not bought this board and the components and would have continued to develop my own board. I still do not buy that the issue was frequency because I have run these at 8k with a 555 circuit no prob. What if one of my Chips were bad from the factory and it ended up blowing up the mosfet section I purchased made for the revolt board would I get a refund for that? NO I wouldn't. There should be a big disclaimer addressing this issue and testing procedures before installing some of these components on the board.
