"I like paperclips." hahaha.
As far as driving, I've heard of people wiring in bright rear fog lights to combat tailgaters, and you diesel folks of course have smogging techniques.

Actually, Some semi trucks have backup lights that they can flick on while driving. Had one flash them to me once to signal something (a thank you I think, it was a while ago).
Might cause problems with the law if you mount lights just to blind people behind you, but what cop would pull you over, unless you blinded them, but they can't see!
What I have been thinking about is a mirror to reflect their lights back to them, I followed my dad once and he had his mirror adjusted way out and my lights reflected back and was blinding myself.... on dims! The worst part was that it was flashing on/off with every bump.
I had an idea of a LED sign, but figured I would be tempted to abuse it.

Updates:
-Filled up, only 30mpg. Worst tank yet. Probably because of short, cold trips to CVS in the middle of the night.
-Went to Flint yesterday and seem to be getting good FE. I don't want to jinx it, but 160+ miles in I'm predicting 40+ mpg
-Two fist-size flakes of rusty metal and paint fell off the passenger door when my friend shut it yesterday. That leaves one fist size hole in the door. I might put something over it.
-My friend also pointed out how enjoyable it is watching people's reactions to the car. I got many compliments from black guys in Flint (and Detroit) and many more strange, bewildered looks from white people. There must be some cultural difference there that makes white people uncomfortable with it. Kinda funny to observe. Also, white adults pretend they're not looking at it, while all kids are fascinated and excited.
-The car goes 110+ mph... speedo only goes to like 95. tested in Mexico
-The box cavity held up at high speeds but the top part is flapping in the wind. This is probably not good for FE so I'm going to try to cross brace it before the trip back to MN.

I don't have an FE gauge yet so my answer is... probably. It was raining really hard.

After hanging at the Woodward meet with friends just now I got $%#@ing pulled over for a bunch of stupid equipment violations. No mirror (legal in MN where it's registered), one headlight. Claimed I pulled out in front of a Jeep when we were both turning right. Didn't have the right insurance card with me (figures) and the registration is in a box behind my seat along with a box cutter, hunting knife, aerosol PB Blaster, bottle of brake fluid and a set of steel wrenches. Thank God he didn't ask me to get the title- he'd have been reading Miranda rights within a matter of seconds. I didn't get a ticket, as always. Pisses me off that this happens but I'm happy for the lack of tickets. They really cut into the gas budget Title is now in the glove box lol.
The fixed headlight conversion will probably be the first mod I do when I get back to MN. To get the fuzz off my ass.
