Been pulled over four times in this car, vs once in the Rabbit.

Seems cops do appreciate you being honest with them, which is always my policy.
You're going to drop the lights into the body and make clear aero covers in place of the original flip ups? Or perhaps make something like these headlights.

Found pics of several Probes with lights like that but not where to get them.

OTOH, I think Sven7 is quite close - those last few inches aren't going to ruin it.

If the lower end can't be lowered, maybe a small gurney-flap / fancy name for an L-shaped bracket / will do the trick.

It was the decor theme: cops don't like aliens. My wife got stopped once for having a 5 foot tall inflatable alien buckled into the passenger seat. "Ma'am, I stopped you for blah, blah, blah, and may I ask why you have an alien in the car?"

LOL fun responses. I'd like to know the story on that alien doll...

I bought the headlight buckets from a late 70s Cadillac awhile ago and will be sinking two of those into the stock locations, and two more wherever they will fit. Acrylic aero covers, too.

Filled up today. 39.9mpg WTF! I think it mostly has to do with my six mile drive to work at 5am, six days a week. The car doesn't warm up quickly enough. On the bright side, I got 40mpg with a LOT LOT LOT less effort than before. NO P&G, and no EOC except to stop lights. So that's a success. But I'm not satisfied (as always). I'm sure it'll get 45mpg or better when it's warm and cruising.

I'm going to pull the tufts off most of the car and test the stuff that's inconclusive. Then I'll pull the air dam off, block the rest of the top grille and some of the bottom, hook up the LED rad fan indicator and relocate the license plate.

Tomorrow I have an appointment to show the Anal Probe to my high school science teacher.

Good job on this probe. I have been following this for a little while and you have definitely been doing really as far as I can see. I honestly wouldn't do the boat tail myself probably because I am vain in that aspect. Looks pretty cool though. I am not sure if you said this or not but what did you make you boat tail out of? Also, did you decide to go with the recessed headlights?

Thanks, the boat tail is an aluminum structure skinned with coroplast.

Whatever you do, you have to own it. So you can do a boat tail if you pull it off and stand behind it. That, and not don't care what people think!

Lol, well that's awesome that you stand by your car. Every owner should. I will definitely read more into this thread though.

I prefer to sit in the driver's seat. Standing behind it is where you are while you watch it being towed away.
