Sometimes, not all the time but I might say most of the time, when I click on a thread link in my Gmail Inbox the link takes me to the fist page in the link. Most of the time the newest post is on page 2 or more. My internet connection (for right now anyway) is a little slow so it's annoying to wait for that link to open only to find I have to go to the last page and wait for that link to open too.

Yeah, that's one of those I'm not quite sure how to fix. It's always annoyed me though

It appears to take me to the most recent unread post in the thread instead of the post in the email. Now that I know that that's what's happening, I'm okay with it.

Come to think of it maybe we can just make it so we have longer pages, more posts per page. That would cut some of that out. It's always seemed to me that the default was a little short, as in there are fewer posts per page on this site compared to what I'm used to. Maybe you could expand that for the whole site if it wouldn't mess people up.

We had a debate a little while back where we opted for the shorter pages to reduce load times and bandwidth use. I'll try to figure out what the actual problem is and solve that

Email spam

Just got a strange email spam of a forum post alert with a link to 65
+mods where the post should be but isn't. Post by batateam.

I enjoy good times but not spam. Is this a hack perhaps?

ADDED: Just found batateam is now banned.

Yeah, batateam posted some spam, so you got a message about a new post. In the meantime, some users reported the spam and all of batateam's posts were erased before you logged on.

One thing I noticed about batateam is that he wasn't of the register-copy-paste-type spammer, but registered like 6 months ago, and the 2 or 3 posts I saw were each different. I wonder what these guys are thinking, b/c if I wanted an Asian Escort (a Ford sold in the Far East?) I definately wouldn't be looking at EcoModder.com but somewhere totally different.

You know you can set your own "posts per page" preferences in your User Control Panel, right?

I use 40 p.p., I think.
