This is fixed, finally. (Yes, it's been "broken" since day one.)

Re-upgraded the software at issue, and it seems to be working ok. But please let me know if you see anything odd again (relating to URLs not working).

The thread "Should I buy this Civic hybrid?" is either gone, or I can't access it. I tried from the Ecomodder search and from an update link I received in email:
Fuel Economy, Hypermiling, EcoModding News and Forum - Ecomodder.com Fuel Economy Forum
I can go to the thread by navigating there from the main page, but the most recent posts don't show up.

Yes. I'm subscribed, and got a notification about somebody posting a message mentioning their Insight having a dead battery at 45,000 miles. When I click the link, I get the main EM.com page, and if I search for the thread using the Google search and click the first link, it also takes me back to the first page.

Can you tell me: were you using the Google search function (top of this page) or the forum's built-in search function ("advanced" link beside the Google search box)?

That's definitely related to the recent software upgrade. Unfortunately we had to upgrade - security hole was discovered.
I'll look into it with the company.

Did some digging:
Subscription e-mail update links were affected by the bug on Nov 3 from about 4:00 PM (EST) to about 8:26 PM (EST) when it was corrected. Anyone receiving a subscription email notice would have experienced the same problem clicking the link to the related thread.
The problem of the thread not showing up when you did a search was a separate issue:
The search box at the top of each page is a Google search. Google indexes the site frequently, but you happened to search for a relatively new thread that it hadn't picked up yet, so it wasn't in the results. If you had used the "advanced" search link, you would have found it - the advanced search is the forum's own built-in search tool, so it's always up to date (but not as friendly as Google).

Not really a bug, but lack of feature:
How come I can't edit the title in a thread I created?

Try it now, brucey.
EDIT: PS - you have to go to the "advanced" or "preview" edit form to be able to access the thread title.
