Seriously, the commercial signage on my 1954 23-window barn door had faded but when it was wet you could see it in the patina. It said "Miss Pratt's School of the Dance and Day Care Center". Chestnut Brown and Sealing Wax red, of course.

I told someone that story around the turn of the century, and they said "I haven't seen it but I saw a video of it under a tarp in [new owner's] back yard."

Although only 1,000 guests were permitted inside Hagia Sophia during the conversion ceremony, thousands more spilled out into the courtyard and surrounding area.

Those inside Hagia Sophia practiced social distancing and wore masks, but outside was a completely different story.

R0 = 3 is assuming no measures taken, no?

Masks worn by one person but not another reduces transmission by something like 30%. 70% if both parties are wearing them.

Basically, assuming perfect adherence to guidelines while in public places, the R0 still is somewhere around 1. Since there is no perfection, it's likely higher than that.
