Sounds like fun in any case. My neighbor's plan is to go jump in the river, but we're on the far side of it.

I have a RainBird on the roof, running off a 3/4" hose. But I have a bigger RainBird that I want to put on an unused utility pole. I'm trying to organize an anarchist fire department. I have a 500gallon tank, with a sump irrigation pump I could cover two neighbors in each direction. The Lake Drive Volunteer Fire Department because the lane floods in rain.

Facebook is deleting posts of reports of suspicious people left and right. There was one that described two people trying to start a fire in a hayfield and a description of what they were wearing, the vehicle and location. It was up for a while and now it’s gone.

They’re covering for the scum...

My trip to Ace was intended to pick up 3/4" male hose to 1/2" female sprinkler head adaptor since I have a ton of those laying around now (replaced with better heads). The adapters were crazy expensive, so I bought a 2 pack of impact sprinklers with an 80' diameter reach. Put a screw in the gable end of the roof and hung 1 sprinkler there (couple of zip ties), and used a tie-down strap to secure the other one to a vent on my roof. I've got all but a 2' strip of roof covered with that, and most of the surrounding yard (and a bit of the neighbors).

I was thinking, if I could accomplish that in about an hour, I could purpose build a sprinkler head at 4 locations on the roof in a few hours and $40 of materials. Don't know why all houses don't have this built in. If I get an evac call, I turn on 2 hose bibs and leave knowing the only way the place catches fire is for the forest across the street to burn too hot.

Maybe I'll set something more permanent up and run it 4th of July also...

Finally, it would be a simple matter to connect all this to my sprinkler valves/controller. From an app I could turn it all on. Program Google so that when a smoke detector goes off located on the roof, sprinklers come on automatically.

A proper dome has an oculus. A hole facing the sky. It could be a cylinder silvered on the inside* with tractor tire inner tubes stacked on the outside. They must have 100 gallons capacity each. The weight would act like a keystone and make the shell stronger. They could be pressurized (fishnet sleeve) and extend the reach of a RainBird. (If the cylinder tapers toward the top light focuses at the center, if it tapers toward the bottom it throws light to the sides.)
