Its a diesel engine not a. Volcano.
Yes would that be a hell of a thing if insurance agencies start dictating battery safety. If so then having a home battery will be about like trying to get a wood stove or fire place.

The term of art is ' Overton Window' not 'sphere of drama'. Your choices today are L, G and B.
Edit: Said no one ever, apparently.

Pretty sure that if the spy agencies aren't specifically looking for any emissions from somewhere, they aint seeing it.. from what I remember it takes a bit of pre programming to narrow down an area from orbit. Ditto for the commercial people. Otherwise you'd have to sort and search a couple million terrabytes of raw data. Maybe it's faster today with super computers and AI as I haven't been in the business for a while.

I think that the Mackinac Center for Public Policy context deals with free market policy 'pragmatism' in the context of the Chicago School of Economics flavor of legerdemain, requiring an incomplete representations of reality when arguing cases.
Growing up downwind of Loco Hills, New Mexico may have dosed oilpan's body so heavily with VOCs that it's 'normal' to him, and can't imagine life without them.
Fear of losing the 'vapors' sends him off searching out all possible 'negative' optics associated with renewables, as if that'll change the minds of the new billionaires making fortunes off the emerging technologies.
3,800,000 extra barrels of Canadian oil / day, at $70-75 / barrel.
That's $ 275,500,000 a day, lost from the US economy.
$ 100,557,500,000 lost each year. That's how we make America great again!

How many pounds of jet fuel is consumed on a 373/8 at capacity for an aborted landing, climb to 4,000 ft, and 20 mile loop back for the 2nd approach?
Rough math using AI results suggests close to 1lb per second at full power.

A 373 I dunno couldnt find specs on them. A MAX-8 or 9 does something like 2000, 2500 gallon an hour at mach .78, more climbing to altitude, less on long approach descent @82,600 pounds of airplane per spec, maybe 20 ton of fuel, 20 ton of plane and passengers?
Used to take me 10 minutes for a trip around the pattern in my 120hp Pacer, probably the same for the 737 much bigger much faster but they go all the way to blackrock playa on the north, Lake Tahoe on the west and Carson city on the South. Keeping the numbers above figure a minimum of 250 gallons, at least $2,000 whacked off the trips profit in fuel alone, probably more, my envelope back is kinda cluttered, but the pound a second looks accurate but a bit low

I listened to the ATC comms last night, and it provided no further information except the pilot calling out the go-around. After the initial climb to 4,000ft, we descended to 3,000 for the remainder of the go-around.
On the flight out, we had a plane with a bad #2 engine that was only discovered after a bit of taxi. An hour later we changed planes, and #1 engine on that one required an air start, so another 30 or so minutes going nowhere.
There's a reason I prefer driving, and that's because I can maintain a schedule way more effectively than a commercial operation with hundreds of people involved.

Just taking the city bus, with 2-3 layovers, across to the West side is ±30 minutes.

I hear the comment about driving, but for me, anything over 500 miles it's cheaper by air. I am guessing you aren't doing 500 + miles at a time which is typical on my car trips. Golf has long fast legs and being european, is quiet and comfy. Did a lot of Grants Pass when granma lived there.
The SF bay or Sacto is a car trip, Vegas would be a flight because Southwest is there every other hour and I can walk or take the bus when I get there. Except for LAX stop overs, havent been to LA in 30 years.

My cut off is 1000 miles. More than 1000 miles and I fly. We just did 2000 miles to St. Louis, so it had to be flying.
I'd fly to Vegas because those flights are so cheap and there are direct flights from PDX. Most destinations require a layover from PDX, which doubles the probability of something going wrong.
