My favorite Mexican restaurant in Tempe had medium, large, and extra-large drinks. Dr. Otto Scratchansniff would argue they are still small, medium, and large.

Ordered a meal from Burger King once and the kid asked what size I wanted. I said small. He said, we don't have small.

Been to LA in the 80s...
Saw toddlers with 'large' sodas. To my amazement these lacked a warning for drowning.
Carls Junior had a salad bar with 2 types of boxes; one time and endless refill, which was just as gigantic as the other but twice as expensive.
Everyone else there bought the endless refill, scooped it full, ate a quarter of it and left the remains on the table...
Went to Taco Bell, who had an offer: a taco and a coke together for 1 dollar.
Bought 4 tacos and 3 coke. Had to pay $4.40. Girl said "You did not take the coke with that one". Gave her five and left the change as a tip
And 'cowboy cut' New York steaks, double layered pizzas, and so forth. Those things don't exist over here.

They're cranking 'em out at a good pace
Take a look at tmcthreads/pictures-of-production-model-3s. Tesla's been having some manufacturing issues but they're slowly cranking up the volume. I'm guess they're making ~500/week right now.
Would anybody care to wager what month Model 3 deliveries surpass GM Bolt sales? I'm guessing December.
Second wager: when do I see my first Model 3 in Austin? I'm also thinking December. Apparently there's already one in town.

What was the production issue causing the slowdown?

Many things, I think, but mostly battery production at the gigafactory. To me, that would have seemed like the easier part.

They were having problems on the line with some of the steel welding and aluminum boding that the III needs but the S does not due to being all aluminum. And some of the production was not scaled up yet forcing some production to be fabbed up by hand. It was also reported that issues at the GigaFactory had been taking so much of Elon's time that he opted to camp out on the roof one night rather than waste time driving back into town just to sleep a few hours and come right back. Although i'm quite sure that he could have found a comfortable office somewhere in that giant building to stay in.
.
Maybe the offices are all in the unfinished part.

I think battery production at the Gigafactory was the primary bottleneck, at least for now. The alleged problems with body welding seem to be more speculation than fact so far.
Someone on reddit said they toured the factory and saw quite a few bodies moving to the paint shop. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tesla buidling what they could until battery pack production ramps up.

VIN #1088 was also spotted, but I'm not sure if Tesla's skipping VINs.
